Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    There's no set date for these. Some depts run them separately but panels are normally in place for 2 years. The AO is the exception to this as the panel regularly exhausts annually.

    It really depends on the number of staff needed at the relevant grade.

    CO competitions are normally every two years. However, according to the 2020 information booklet, found at this post on the CO thread, "It is not envisaged that appointments will be made from this competition after May 2021". This does not mean the panel will definitely close in May, but the Public Appointments Service are likely to open a new competition in April or May.

    The current EO competition closed to applicants in August 2020. According to page 14 of the information booklet, "It is not envisaged that appointments will be made from this competition after April 2022". Therefore, the next competition would be expected to open in spring 2022, subject to requirements.

    AO competitions have become annual events over the last few years (which makes sense, if you want to hire graduates). The 2020 competition, with associated streams, had staggered closing dates around late September/ early October. Though not a certainty, expect something similar this year.

    There was comment on the CO2020 page, someone got a email from PAS to say it would be like run to Sept 2021. Its likely the new competition would open in about June to allow time for interviews.

    If people are interested in applying, I would recommend to follow the current threads. Once the new competition opens, it will be posted.
