Hi all, I have just got eir fibre broadband installed with no voip phone. There is an existing analog landline.

I am wondering is it possible to get a voice over ip phone and keep the existing analog phone number. Basically, get rid of the analog landline which is never used (oap keeping with tradition) with a charge of 20 euro's per month and replace with voip phone using analog phone number

I'm just moving from Eircom network broadband to SIRO, porting over the number with me. Only thing to watch out for is that it takes up to 5days to port over number, longer apparently as moving from phone to optical network (not just a change of ISP), so have to delay cancellation of original phone broadband service until porting complete, else port option removed. At last Sky flagged this to me and I've delayed cancellation accordingly, pure never advised.

A question I have is on what phone is compatible with new SIRO Fritzbox router, whether I can reuse analogue phone once hub attached to router or I require a new digital phone system.
