And sadly won't make a difference

I literally just heard it on 96fm on news saying the Taoiseach said it.

Still good to turn up at them , seems the only thing we can do now. Just hope it’s peaceful in Dublin on paddy’s day, don’t give RTE the headlines they want.

Like what I heard was maybe easing of 5 k and some sh*t about meeting outdoors , like WTF , we’ve been doing that for the last 3 months. Cracking up here

Extremely frustrating, we can easily claim not to have handled this the worst. Killing our society

Yeah most people are already doing that now. Only way to cope some bit. If that's what they ease from April, it's not going to make one bit of a difference

Does my head in when its mentioned about allowing people to meet out doors will be considered as part of lifting restrictions.

I live in Bray town and the seafront does be packed with people clearly meeting each other out doors. Can assume its the same all over the country in similar spots.

So annoying, it's a stupid rule. Would even 5% of the population be sticking rigidly to the outdoor rule? They know well it's been broken everywhere.

The only reason it's there is that they think they can use it in April to say we're not lifting restrictions. You can't fool the people though.

Yea the talking about May is just sick.

It is March 10th, April 5th is still over 3 weeks ago.

People have lives to live. Everybody in this society be all and end all is not having the kids in fooking school.

Other people have other priorities and they have been abandoned.

If you don't have a kid or want a kid you basically are worthless in this society.

    Cowardly, Shameful, Pathetic.

A criminal abdication of responsibility by politicians that are paid into the 6 figures to best represent the interests of this country, cheered on by a cohort of hysteria-merchants and virtue-signalers and strung-along by a media that have abandoned any sense of impartiality and sober reporting to follow the clicks and advertising revenue.

I pity the coming generations that will still be cleaning this mess up when the architects of this nonsense have shuffled off stage.

They truly are a bunch of pathetic bottom-feeders. Collecting six figure salaries while not having the testicles to lead. It's just sad at this stage.

Very good point. While it's so important, it shouldn't be based on children going back to school

Just another positive side effect of COVID. A historic low in birth rates is becoming evident across Europe - UK below. Italy has seen a similar drop in birth rate. Presumably it will be replicated across Europe, there was already huge issues with population replacement in these countries to begin with.

Good and bad to see that I agree with the ire being shown in this thread, so bloody annoying to see these imbeciles standing in front of microphones spewing ****e out about "how long we have to go" and "a gradual approach"... utter ****ing ****

Sure all the pr*cks calling the shots are all partnered up so don’t give a f*ck about anyone wanted to form relationships and biological clocks ticking don’t give two f*cks about that either. Ah it’s just sickening stuff.

I'm not sure they will, people aren't that inclined to protest.

What you will definitely see are more and more people just ignoring the ridiculous restrictions.
In my circle, the 5K is well gone, meeting outdoors is happening quite a bit. Meeting indoors is starting to take off now again. Am getting a few invites for cans for Cheltenham next week.

IMO its a mistake not to allow outdoor meeting of people as it will just result in people meeting indoors to avoid the twitchers.

A friend of mine in the guards said they have been inundated with calls about people meeting outside, strange reg cars parked outside a house, teenagers hanging around outside together. He said they ignore almost all of them (bar maybe a large house party, they might send a car over).

“We are going to go more slowly than maybe we would have if we hadn’t had the experience we did in January,” the Tánaiste said.

So Leo has basically admitted in the above quote that the government are scared.

I really feel for the hospitality sector who wont see a summer season this year.

Then we have Minister O'Brien driving around the country promoting some housing grants. There is no need for this unnecessary journey.

    We are led by donkeys.

Absolute disgrace of a government, this is disgusting.

Can I just ask a serious question...

Factual answer only please - not looking for opinions on my decision...

When I decide (once the weather improves) to say bo77ocks to the 5km 'rule' and take my mentally drained self, and my wife & dogs, outside the ridiculous 5km limit... to visit a beach or just take in a scenic drive (we have a small camper - so won't be in contact with another sinner really)...

Apart from fines - can I be arrested or have my van taken off me?

    Because I've had enough.

If we called them "Come On T'**** with the Vaccination Programme!" protests maybe they would have more public support?

This is despite the now known seasonality of the virus and the effect it has on case numbers! What's more is that we now have vaccines there to protect those most vulnerable.

Ah yes - the auld "I've never met you, don't know your personal circumstances, but will totally avoid the question you just asked" reply...

How do I insert a rolls eyes emoji?

I'd say there will be a big demonstration on paddys day. Another one 3 days later if the weather is decent which it is forecast probably large turnouts.

This waiting on vaccination **** is such a ****ing joke now

    It's insane reading

5 million people here in Irealnd

1 million can't get the vaccine ( kids, pregnant women, allergy people )

1 million will refuse the vaccine ( 80% uptake is what polls are showing )

225 thousand have already had Covid and re-infection is miniscule, 500,000 have had first doses

That's nearly 3 million people out of 5 million that are either not eligible for the vaccine, won't get it or have some protection the virus
