President Biden is doing a decent job so far in many areas but it's clear his administration is failing with southern border mass immigration.

The February 2021 numbers are 3x the numbers of
    February 2020.

In February—despite a week of freezing weather—Border Patrol apprehended 101,535 illegal border crossers along the southern border, according to Jaeson Jones, a former Texas Department of Public Safety captain. Another 26,000 people evaded capture, he said.

The February number is almost triple the apprehensions from February 2020, when Border Patrol caught almost 37,000 people

There is a huge Influx of immigrants coming in and 60 percent less being detained for deportation by ICE compared to the Trump administration.

The number of immigrants taken into custody by ICE officers fell more than 60 percent in February compared with the last three months of the Trump administration, according to data reviewed by The Washington Post. Deportations fell by nearly the same amount, ICE statistics show.

The USA has 250+% more immigrants coming in while 60% less are being deported.

I don't enjoy being the fly in the ointment on this but I think the welcome mat needs to be thrown away here.

    Unsustainable.

This Jaeson Jones (note: not a current USG employee): https://www.jaesonjones.com/

    a Fox nation contributor?

Might want to wait till next week when the official statistics are out, per Reuters this week.

Note that the number is the highest since 2019...hmm...who was POTUS then?

    Riveting stuff. Spectacular journalism.

The covid death toll for yesterday was equivalent to four 737 plane crashes.

What has this got to do with Joe Biden's presidency?

It's gas how someone expects to be taken seriously in any way when the consistently just link dump and run away from any responses to their posts.

A reporter asked a joke question and got an expected joke answer. And yet somehow the above poster also mentioned the number of Covid deaths.

    Pathetic. Absolutely pathetic.

For me it lends credence to the argument that the media are going super easy on Biden and his administration with such puff piece questions.

Jesus ****ing Christ. It's normal for a joke question or two to be asked during a typical briefing.

The amount of delusion by some people is just frightening sometimes.

How're the case numbers going? Up or down? Vaccinations?

The reporter's questions being drowned out, while being rushed out and prevented from asking biden any questions. We have seen this time and time again , we've heard the excuses too.

You really need to get over your Trump Derangement Syndrome dude, still at this months after your boy was battered in the election and still coming out with this nonsense and no response as ever when called out. You're obsessed!!

Most likely had something to do with the last president being an incompetent, unqualified, narcissistic, ignorant, egotistical, arrogant, racist bully.

Surely you would need all the questions for that instead of picking and choosing ones that suit you? Every administration gets asked softball questions here and there. It gives them a chance to show the administrations humane side and not every single question will be a hard hitter. There are plenty of examples from previous presidents admin. Obama asked if Bill Clinton was the first black president, Ivanka asked about her kids in the white House etc etc.

If this adds credence to the media not going hard on Biden then you have to ask how quick are you to jump to that conclusion.

Not the slightest chance a single person in this thread who is upset about that joke question watched the press briefing in full. Not a hope.

They were like attack dogs with the last president

They tried to hold a guy who lied 30,000 plus times to account.

Any of his proxies lied through their teeth too.

And if the press sometimes sounded like they were shouting, it was because that incompetent idiot had a habit of standing in front of a helicopter fired up, so he could select what he claimed to hear and ignore the rest.

Seriously, how can you not come to these conclusions yourself?

    Justified.

Biden has been criticised for working too much, working too little, having a Rolex watch, an exercise bike, having dogs that didn’t look presidential and his wife having Dr. before her name.

The other guy for lying about a pandemic that killed hundreds of thousands, praising dictators and white supremacists, bribing Ukraine, losing millions of jobs, refusing to accept defeat in an election and causing an insurrection.

That's the same set of verbs you used with me. Do you copy and paste them from a template?

You present a list of trivial nonsense about Biden even though you know there are much more serious complaints about him and the same bombastic language about Trump.

It's not convincing at all and you are not good at it.

The 7 day rolling average of cases is down 70% and the 7 day rolling average of deaths is down 42% in the 50 days since Biden took office.

If we're talking about Covid numbers over the start of his presidency, it has been nothing short of an outrageous success story thus far, though somehow I get the feeling Trump supporters wouldn't be happy with the media focusing on those rapid declines either.

I copied and pasted the same sentence I used many times before as it's a nice, accurate summary of Trump. Don't worry, when one of you adds something new and constructive to the conversation, I will do likewise. I might be waiting a while though.

Trivial nonsense that the press have criticised him over.
    Thanks for validating my point.

Is the GOP going to unlock funding to improve the facilities at the border and actually make it more effective and catching and processing people? The administration has wanted to do more, but had it's hands tied.

Unfortunately untold billions over 4 years has been spent on a wall that has immediately failed as a deterrent.

I'd also disagree that a "welcome mat" is being presented for these people, the conditions are horrendous, yet people still come, unless they're going back to purposely separating families, there's no where more to go except increasing the facilities and personnel at the border (which means the GOP unlocking the associated funding for it).

Blaiming the GOP for things when Democrats control the house and senate?

We will agree to disagree on this point as I think we are too far away on viewpoints to find a common ground.

Unfortunately a lot of the systems are done by state legislatures which are GOP controlled on the border, so need GOP approval to go ahead (such as improving the holding facilities), however, it will improve as time goes on and funding can be increased, and new legislation drafted (even getting something through the Dem controlled senate can be difficult as was found with the relief bill). It also takes time to fix 4 years of abject failure.

It would be good to understand what you mean by removing the "welcome mat", as it trivialises the problems that are occurring.

They are not going super easy on Biden. The last guy kept going on about fake news and faced more questions because of that.
Look at every other POTUS and you'll see that for most of their time they were all treated similarly. Obviously at critical times you'll get asked more difficult questions. Biden is announcing, with lots of detail, everything that is being done. As a result they don't need to ask him much.

They were like attack dogs with the last president

Trump brought the attention on himself everyday of his administration because as with everything in his life, it was always about him. This wasn't Media driven. It's was driven by Trump himself through his own Tweets, those Tweets he retweeted, the verbatim transcripts of his various interviews, unedited videos of his interviews/public appearances and his actions/inactions across a multitude issues. His unfitness for holding any office became more pronounced as his administration lurched form one crisis of his own making to another. It was further reinforced by those Trump surrounded himself with and their own unfitness for the offices they held.
Bidens administration is not hampered by the self inflicted issues which were rife in Trump's administration no matter how hard people try to make it so.

So, we are back to saying that he isn't doing enough? Gotcha.

Yesterday, it was "he wasn't really doing anything at all". It is hard to keep up!

No problem. Just wanted to see what way the wind was blowing today.

(Tomorrow, no doubt it will be "he's doing too much. He's a dictator etc etc")
