How to become a taxi driver.

I've got a car licence and also able to drive buses and minibuses. I'm wondering how I could become a taxi driver and what is needed to get started?

Do I have to do some sort of training before hand? Thanks in advance for any advice you can give I'm from Dundalk area.

You need a SPSV licence first, this will primarily test your familiarity with set routes within the district you are applying for the licence in. After this you then need a PSV licence which will allow you to purchase/apply for a taxi plate and a car which confirms to the age and size rules, more details here...
