Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hey ..
    I had an interview where the interviewer spent the whole time reading and looking at the papers on front of them instead of the screen. It showed by the way they didn't remember what I had said and kept repeating the questions.

    I thought it was a very poor imagine of the company who are a MNC.

    This was done through zoom, is this the norm now?

    It gave me a feeling that this company isn't great.

    If I understand correctly, you're saying during the video interview she wasn't really looking at her computer screen but instead was looking at papers she had printed, e.g. your resume, the job spec, questions she wants to ask, etc.?

    If so, I don't think this is an issue.

    The second part, that she kept asking you the same question, is it possible you weren't communicating properly?

    I'm not trying to have a go at you or be mean, but I'm also struggling a little to understand what you've said in your above post.

    I'd trust your gut if you genuinely had a bad feeling about the interaction. If the call gave you the feeling that the company isn't for you, or the interviewer didn't give you the kind of reception you would want from an employer, then maybe it's not a good fit for you.

    That said, in terms of whether the company is any good, I wouldn't take it as an indicator. Interviewing isn't the interviewer's full-time job, they're in the middle of their workday, trying to switch off from whatever urgent deadline is on their plate, to try to interview people. And they're probably interviewing a bunch of people. So of course they need to refer to paperwork, and maybe they are somewhat preoccupied or disinterested, and maybe they did forget your answers to certain questions.

    Right or wrong, the interview just isn't as important to them as it is to you. Especially if you're well prepped and invested, even a good interview can feel a bit anticlimactic.

    True, thank you. I think I was just overthinking it earlier n nit picking. I was trying to justify my gut feeling instead of just listening to it there was just something odd about the interview. Anyway onwards to the next one lol.
