DIY cellulose insulation in attic and workshop

I need to reinsulate my attic and insulate my upcoming workshop. The process seems pretty straightforward. But from what I gathered I need special machinery to break it down and the blow al over the place. I am wondering if I could do away without it? Jut mulch the thing by hands and distribute it with shovels.

And if you know any good places to buy cellulose around Roscommon, please share.

hiya. i did my attic about 2 years ago. bought few pallets bales of cellulose. its easy to use. put about 2 1/2 feet depth down. huge difference in heat etc..
bought it up north, was cheaper than any where else i could find.
no machinery needed. handballed it in etc...

What form did it come in?
Was is BBA/CE certified?
So you added 750 mm manually. impressive:D?

lol, no i got the young lads who were smaller than me at the time to spread it out, worked their way from furthest corner back to hatch, raised a gangway above insulation to and from water tanks, put down the heat resistant pots over lighting, electrics etc and jackets on water tanks and pipes.
i just paid for it and shoved all the bales, which were vacuum packed up into attic. Sorry, i cant remember what spec it was but i did recieve all that stuff when i bought it.
