Mine took two weeks from littlewoods.

Tracking through the order process, they may be dropshipping them.

One HomePod mini arrived with me there, exactly two weeks after ordering two. why they decided to ship them separately I'll have no clue.

first I heard of my tracking updating was this morning at around 9:30 via email and an SMS. I'll assume I'll get the same again tomorrow for the second HomePod.

And the second one arrived on Tuesday this week. If you're looking for these in a hurry don't order from little woods. Problem now is I want to buy two more :pac:

Over a month from littlewoods. Just happy to have it

Yeah wouldn’t be going with Littewoods again. I bought one from Curry’s in the UK pre Brexit and it came really quick. But that was via parcelmotel which is now gone essentially.

    Feckin Brexit.

Anyone experiencing occasional sound drop outs while listening to Today FM in the morning between 8-10am on the HomePod?

Is the definitive list of commands for RTE radio stations? I ask HomePod to play Newstalk radio and it plays an English station I think. RTE Radio 1 will only play if I say “Radio 1 RTE” anything other than that forget it. A bit sh1te to be honest.

    I have it playing today fm, Dublin’s 98fm, fm104, spin1038 and RTÉ’s no problem.

However it’s mainly podcasts and music that it plays as they’re infinitely more interesting.

Mine will play them all no problem but the command has to be right. Normally get the “I’m sorry I can’t find this station” or something similar.

It can be a bit quirky regarding radio stations e.g if I want to play RTÉ Gold, to get it to work I just have to say “Hey Siri, play Gold”. Now sometimes it will play a song by some artist but most of the time the correct radio station. A variation on getting it to work is to say “Hey Siri, play gold radio”.

Same with google assistant to be fair. You gotta say “Sunshine one oh six point eight” or “newstalk fm on the radio”. There is just too many variables where the speaker will return something different.

Best way to get Irish stations and not rely only Siri Interpreting our accents:

    1. Download and buy IAP for Broadcasts (great Irish app) - https://apps.apple.com/ie/app/broadcasts/id1469995354

    2. Build shortcuts like in screen attached.

    3. "Hey Siri run newstalk* shortcut"

    * whatever name you want here, try avoid using the key phrase "play" as that will have Siri going through TuneIn or their own backend instead of running the shortcut.

If you do this shortcut approach you can even automate it using HomeKit automation to start playing every morning at 8am for example.

I've been having the same issue with my Echo Dot at those times with Today FM. I'm connecting to Tune In, I presume the Homepod is too.

I’d say it’s “peak time” for that station but you’d imagine the stream could cope as my broadband isn’t the issue.

I should receive delivery of my two Minis today. I already have two standard homepods (currently stereo paired with an AppleTV)

We have found over lockdown that we are using them a lot. So now the minis will be added to the mix !

Looks like Littlewoods have delisted the HomePod mini from the Irish site! Glad I bought 2 before they went. Kind of inevitable really since they’re not officially sold here :(

There are surely other places in Ireland doing them?

I’ve got two myself but could do with a third tbh.

How do you find this? Thinking of doing it for the atmos effect

AFAIK the Mini doesn't do Dolby Atmos, only the full sized HomePod's do. The mini's will do stereo pair only.

Anyone know of a way in Ireland to get the OG HomePod as well as a mini now?

A friend of mine has ordered Apple.com/uk using An Post's AddressPal, not sure if he was stung for customs/imports etc. but it's probably the best shot.

Certainly will get done for VAT at 23% and An Post's €10 delivery charge. A full-size HomePod is also over the €150 limit for customs duty but I've no idea if wireless speakers attract such a charge.

Edit: it seems they might be under CN code 8518 which attracts 0%.

Edit edit: £279 = €323 +€10 delivery fee is €333 plus 23% VAT is €410. An extra €90 importing it this way. Better to wait a couple of months: a) get it in Curry's in NI and b) there might be a new one.

Just talked to him there. The only fee he paid was the €6.50 per item at address pal. He bought two minis and apple sent them separately.
