CC large value purchase question?

Say I have a credit limit of €3000 euro and want to by something thats €4000? If I preload the credit card with €1000 will I be able to put €4000 on the card in one transaction. I know I could ask the bank and even get a temporary limit on the card but probably easier if someone here has experience of doing this.

If you put the card in credit by €1,000 and have a €3,000 limit, then yes you can spend €4,000
