Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

We're up & running in Cardiff. I expect this to be a great contest.

Wonder if england will get a red card in this match now too keep the welsh streak going

Great seeing Itoje get penalised but the English offline is continuously offside, every single time.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,997 ✭✭✭almostover

Itoje with 2 penalties already. How he avoids yellow cards is beyond me. Great player but a penalty machine.

    Wales 3 England 0

bit more physical than the last game!

Was going to ask why Eddie Jones was singing GSTQ but remembered Australia is a commonwealth country

Its scary to think George North is only 28. Have a feeling this could be a draw

3 penalties after 13 minutes, if it was a drinking game you'd be p*ssed by HT

Three pens against Itoje already, surely should get a warning.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,564 ✭✭✭RugbyLover123

Surely there should be a law brought in about 1 players committing a certain amount of penalties regardless of what they are is a yellow? 3 against Itoje now inside 14 mins.

Great heads up stuff - regardless of the questionable refereeing decision

Forget Farrell. If that happened against Ireland we'd be tearing down the wallpaper.

Not a sporting situation I would say.

    Not sure about that tbh.

That is poor form from the ref.

I' m not a massive Farrell fan, but he had a point there...

    Not sure about that tbh.

The penalty itself was very very soft.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,188 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

Itoje is playing similar to 2018 where England had their mini meltdown. He plays on the bleeding edge of legality and if he's the slightest bit off his game he concedes truck loads of penalties.

Wales having a lucky campaign so far

England or not that is very poor from the ref

    That’s baffling from the ref.

We did something like that against South Africa once iirc.

It was, but how is it that these decisions always, always, always, always seem to go in Wales' direction down the years?

It's clearly not some magical bias and likely is just smarts and knowing how to play the ref, but going in to any game you're almost guaranteed to see Wales benefit from refereeing calls far more than their opposition.

Terrible from the referee. Fair enough he says time on, but he has to allow England time to reset.

    Absolute nonsesne

Whatever about resetting, he told Farrell to talk to his team, they were in a huddle doing just that with water carriers all over the pitch. It was utterly ridiculous.

Farrell's face! That is hilarious :D

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,042 ✭✭✭Carfacemandog

England or not that is very poor from the ref

Also very poor that he kept on with "please please please please... let me talk first" and then just walked off the moment he was done speaking. Might have been a language issue, but would have definitely left an even more bitter taste if I were Farrell.

Hate to see a player chewing gum during a game

A younger Farrell wouldn't kick the long peno after. Impressive mental composure

Yeah fair enough, you'll always try it, but whether it stands in the particular circumstances should be the subject of a refereeing call that considers all factors. Wales had staff all over the pitch, for England to be disadvantaged in that case is poor.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,526 ✭✭✭dublinman1990

I thought Josh adams try was good. But the way it was handled was not so great. It should have went ahead without the water carriers on the pitch. The ref was wrong to say that it should be counted once adams scored it. If any other team scored a try like that. Would it have been reversed?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,142 ✭✭✭OldRio

Shocking referee, awful game to watch at the moment.
How many penalties? How much kicking?

You know the saying “imagine everyone in their underwear”

England should imagine every team they play is Ireland, they seem to play like men possessed against us yet play like...this again lost the others.

4 penalties for itoje and still no YC.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,496 ✭✭✭Paul Smeenus

Is that a fourth penalty from Itoje?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,415 ✭✭✭Dave_The_Sheep

Ball was a ****ing mile out.

The try was technically good, but it was terrible from the ref to allow play to restart in the first place.
