Apparently the sale of Communicorp will net 100 million less than it cost o brien to purchase, he made a loss on INM and his digicel group are heavily in debt, what’s his game? Are things going south or is it all a ploy?

I had heard last year he was calling in a lot of personal loans he had given people... people were selling off property to pay them back

Not net. That's the sale price for the group. Apparently TodayFM and some other stations were bought for 200 million in 2007.

I sometimes think Dennis is the equivalent of the emperor with no clothes except in his case he has no cash. Seems loaded up to the eyeballs in debt and digicell owes a fortune in bond payments. I think Ian Kehoe & Tom Lyons at the Currency website have shown him up for a good bit that the mainstream media wont report on or are living in fear of a day in court

There's also this important detail from the Irish Times report:
"The latest accounts for Communicorp show that Mr O’Brien, its majority shareholder, increased his financial support to the group in 2019, bringing his total loans to Communicorp to €104.2 million."

It's well known that he wanted to get out of media ownership here and sell off the stations.

His digicel business has now started to make serious profits and he's taken a good whack of dividends over the years. The pacific part is in a bidding war and may fetch $2.5 billion due to its strategic value. (valued at $600m just over a year ago)

He's certainly not short of a few bob, but people are phenomenally jealous of him and he doesn't give a toss.

As for "he's calling in personal loans" - utter tosh and probably peddled by some anti O'Brien / Water charges group. Maybe those people should look at the digicel foundation where he has provided millions in donations to better the lives of those in the countries he operates.

Much of what you have said is factually untrue unless you have evidence to state otherwise, Digicel had to restructure its bonds last year because it couldn’t pay them with bond holders taking a hit, don’t think that would happen if it was so profitable it is true though that o brien has taken substantial dividends over the years
