I feel like turning part of BTCs (my largest position as the moment) into a bunch of random Altcoins that dropped hugely since yesterday

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,938 ✭✭✭✭banie01

Moved my cash pile back into primarily BTC, ETH, BNB and LTC on that dip.

Also fired a blunderbuss at a range of ALTs just for shíts and giggles.
Audio, LRC, link, xlm, doge, raven, tezos and TFuel.
Did nicely out of the CRO pump too as it coincided with me dropping my exchange stake.

Question - do you guys sell the dip and then enter and then enter a buy-limit for the price you sold out at so that you don't drop all the way to oblivion if the market goes that way and if a recovery happens you don't miss out?

    https://tether.to/tether-and-bitfinex-reach-settlement-with-new-york-attorney-generals-office/

Tether reached a settlemetn with NY AG

that puts that to the rest, back to the moon we go?

I dont think that was affecting crypto overall, probably just XRP.
But thats just my opinion. I have a feeling we haven't bottomed out yet but who the hell knows :)

Any other day that news would send it skyrocketing. Not sure what will happen today :)

CCIV stock has sent people running for the hills generally as it announced late and destroyed after hours trading. 2.30pm is the NASDAQ bell our time, so we'll have to see what the market sentiment is. Bitcoin and all the rest could have a (temporary) rough week - BTFD and all that lol

In context, 58k to 48k doesn't even represent a 14 day low for BTC
    https://uk.finance.yahoo.com/news/fed-powell-offers-bitcoin-bulls-102113778.html

There will be a correction, of that you can be sure, but there's been some strange activity by mining pools and others so there's a bit of a price war going on. If ETH gas wasn't so bloody high it'd be taking advantage more imo.

Are we seeing a bull trap? I can't help but feel there's more falling to be done today... (maybe wishful thinking as I feel I've missed the boat!)

I think its going to be a choppy week in the red myself, bit of bouncing off support lines and big positions waiting to pounce. Watch RIOT and MARA stocks in particular in relation to bitcoin mining and sentiment. The minute stimulus cheques hit the US again it's going to be a lot of silly money entering from the sidelines once again, and anyone burnt on altcoins will again pile into the top 5-10 marketcap on the big exchanges.

Tell me you have at least bought this dip?

This time yesterday (just passed) there was a big drop in the market, and today as we hit 24 hours past that point those 24 hour figures temporarily looked "okay", however since the rebound was fast, the figures just a few minutes later now "look" terrible, which is triggering the market to drop further. If we can make it a few 24 hour cycles until **** looks "green" again, then maybe the panic sells might not turn into a repeating trend.

Couple grand dropped into BTC over 24 hours. Near on 30% gain once we get back to 58k area. Easier & more reliable than the stock market for me.

I do, its hit or miss if it works to be honest. I dont go fully in with that strategy so if it goes up I have a portion I've gotten cheap but if it goes lower I'm not hurting too bad and can buy back in after on at a lower price.

Yeah that's what I'm thinking. Assuming the price falls off further from the point I sell out then I've got cash to spend below the sell-out price when I think the coin is cheaper and then can get more profit on the way back up. If the price doesn't drop substantially at all before rising again then the buy-limit ensure I don't miss out.

There must be something I'm not thinking of here is there? Why wouldn't everyone do this?

I panic sold a fifth of my ethereum like a dope this morning. I have such a low bep (thanks grindle) that I had been meaning to take some profit at the ATH last week but missed it.

It's amazing how one hour you panic that its dropping the next hour you are praying for it to drop more... :(

My first experience of a proper dip, red everywhere but Im HODL and bought some BTC today. If it continues tm ill but some ALTS that might be worth a flip. other wise not too worried. its a marathon not a sprint

Personally, I wouldn't buy alts in this. This could easily keep going down for a while, and alts will drop the most. At least with BTC you've a high chance of it returning at some point in the future, that's not such a guarantee with alts.

I laugh when people call this a bargain.

EDIT: Seriously though, is this pullback really a bad thing? Is there a coin you've bought where you felt genuinely good about the price that is down atm? I exclude BTC from this because that seems to be genuinely different with hardcore believers who will DCA into it regardless and long-term they've been right so far.

I mean Chainlink at €20 - what's the problem? I saw Lex pushing that at $6 here and I've only been checking this since May. For myself at least I was watching coins from the side I happily accepted I had no business getting involved in...until I did, and so bought at the (a?) top. That'll teach me :)

But there's definitely (and understandably) been a lot of speculative money messing with the prices. Still seems to be a space invested in when money is plentiful - both through pessimism and exuberance lol - but that can change surely. Looking at Solana, if/when bitcoin ever does that - stays green while the rest (& the stock market) drops, that's the turning point for btc isn't it?

All of them. This is just like 2017 and when you think the price looks high it should probs be 10x lower. Anybody who doesn't want to buy their fave coin 10x lower is mentally debilitated.

Your posts regularly confuse me. Which coins are currently 10x down from their previous ATH (besides the obscure ****coins)?

    Orange pilled.

Grindle longs for the days he could pay the rent, the bills, fuel up the car, small holiday and have enough left in his paycheck to buy 10 ethereum to add to the hoard:pac:

Talk of 2017 does put the fear of god in me though and makes me wonder if someone knows something I don't...

Not sure if there's crossed wires here - I meant if you've bought a coin in the last x weeks, you're probably buying it directly after some xX increase and/or in a market that has seen an X gain in total. It's hard for me to be surprised if it pulls back. Regardless of fundamentals or anything, I've just paid a lot more for something than the previous buyers did. I'm at their mercy to some extent.

luckily I cashed in a small amount of btc and eth a week ago, kept most of the profits, but I couldn't help a little dip in THETA, TFUEL, ROSE, LINK and DOT tonight.....I need help 😫 😠oh and WXT, but I invested in that recently on crowdcube...and maybe a few euros in CRO now that I think about it 🀔 reminder to buy stuff with both those cards in the next few days ðŸ˜႒ðŸ‘

Every coin including all my faves are going through over-exaggerated price moves. Nearly every coin should be 10x less than where they are now, it's all hype, total nonsense.

Would you mind listing a few of the bargain coins you see out there. Im just starting on the crypto buying and reading up on a lot of stuff at the moment, and would love a few pointers on what coins you consider bargains to read up on?

    Cheers, Connie

Good for you that it does....because it should. There will be an 80% reset once again at some stage ...albeit that it may not be for some months yet.

One thing I would encourage newcomers to do....Whenever you decide to put a few quid on a token, imagine how life would be like if you never see that money again. Sit with that for a few hours before you execute that trade.

Best thing to do is to buy a few coins that you think are interesting - as in €50 of each. Go through the process so that you're familiar with it. Holding anything will make you more interested in it - and you'll learn more about it that way. Don't think in terms of 'impending doom' ...there are always opportunities in crypto and there will be for many years to come....so take your own sweet time.

The only coin I think worth having is Bitcoin itself. Everything else is roulette.
