What do you mean by suspend? Restrictions on bets? Is it in your own name?

I know fellas who have had on line accounts closed and I presume they were closed because the punter doing pretty good. I'm just wondering what's the best way(apart from losing!) to prevent this happening.

There limiting bets on Paddy Power. Max stake I could get on a 33/1 shot was 16.90 the other night. Scandalous.

You can withdraw away anyway. The only reason you'd have small withdrawals would be if you had an account in someone elses name and didn't want to draw the attention of the fraud team with a large withdrawal. Different departments completely would look after bet restrictions and fraud.

With the odd exception of someone simplifying language, if someone tells you their account was 'closed', they're talking brown or it was closed for some other reason like problem gambling. Bookies restrict stakes on certain customers but very very rarely close accounts.

Accounts don't get restricted by winning money, that's a misconception. Someone who clicks a few accums on winning favs or something won't get restricted. You only get restricted by regularly beating the starting price (in every sport), betting bad e/w, or underhand things such as backing clear errors (something 50/1 that's meant to be 5/1), bonus abusing or arbitrage.

The odd time someone who generally hasn't a clue will back something smart (eg a shortner from 20s to 5s in a maiden, or an error like above) and they'll get restricted almost accidentally because they're caught in the middle of something bigger. This is sheer laziness and stupidity on the bookies part but they're terrible for it. The likes of Coral see someone having maybe their 5th bet on an irish maiden and decide its not worth the effort monitoring him when the customer would be a good customer for them long term. The amount of smart bettors who've had 1 or 2 accounts restricted is very small, they're more likely to be accidental ones despite them wearing it as a badge of honour. Someone genuinely beating the game generally has all their accounts (and some of families/friends accounts) gone in quick enough time

If it was the other night then i assume it was an overnight. 16.90x33 is a 578 quid liability on an overnight. That's not limited. Someone limited would get 25c on

What would happen for instance if you won a large amount and withdrew it and they found out you had an account registered before? Would they give you back all the money you lost previously and refuse to pay out your winning bet?

Depends on the bookie. Unless you were restricted before I wouldn't worry. In the past you'd have gotten away with it either way. Nowadays its dodge if you were previously restricted but I'd still recommend anyone struggling for an account to chance it. Use a different address, email and payment method. Some people hate the uncertainty with something like that though so understandable if they'd leave it. If found, they might freeze winnings and refund deposit
