Aer Chór Double Success

Recently, 2 Aer Chór pilots completed the Initial Entry Rotary Wing Course at the US Army Aviation Centre of Excellence in Fort Rucker, Alabama.

They commenced the course in August 2020 with 54 classmates. After flying 120 hours on the UH-72, completing 19 academic exams and 6 flight line check rides, both Irish students topped their class rankings, achieving 1st and 2nd in their section.

They were the first Aer Chór pilots to be awarded the US Army Aviator Badge.

After quarantine, they will begin their operational careers with #302 SQN flying the Airbus EC135.

Congratulations to them both.

Are the two AC pilots still on secondment to the RAAF or have they returned? I know Oz is a sh*tshow in regard to travel restrictions over the last few months.

Indeed, also note that as with any grammar nazi post, there is an error in Pat's post. Its "as Gaeilge" or "i nGaeilge". "ós Gaeilge" translates as "since Irish".
