    Hi,

Can you fit 3 child seats at the back of a Hyundai i40 Saloon / Hatchback?

One baby seat, one 2 yr old seat, and one 4 year old seat?

or any other large car - BMW 5 Series, C5, A6?

Depends if you want to use isofix points.

    Thanks.

Most large cars have 2 isofix points. Which will do for the baby and 2 year old - then 5 point seat belt seat for the 4 year old, wouldnt that be okay?

If you want to use the 2 isofix points you generally won't fit three across the back on an i40, you won't get a be able to get a booster seat between the 2 other seats.

You will need to use seatbelts on all seats as this gives more flexibility with placement of seats. You should check out 'Ireland - Rear facing car seats' on facebook they have plenty of pictures of configurations across various cars.

Highly unlikely. We weren't even close in my Skoda Octavia and wife's Mazda CX5.

Based on my experience you will need a car with independent rear seats. E.g. S-Max, 3008s, etc. Basically you're in MPV league.
We got a S-Max as the Octavia replacement.

3 seats across the back of most saloons is v difficult- 2 boosters and one child seat can work. But 2 childseats is the most you'll get in most standards. For a tight squeeze my missus had an old 04 Mondeo where it just about worked.
You probably need 3 independent rear seats - and not the 2.5 rear seats that lots of small MPVs have.
S Max, 5008, Picasso, or larger were what we looked at back in the day.
You're next issue will be how to fit one of the kids friends into the car. or granny/granddad...... so that's why a 3rd row is useful even if rarely used.
We've done 2 short trips to the UK with 7- makes you pack v carefully!

How about the audi A6? Would this fit 2 isofix and one belted?

As poster above said you will need to look at MPV’s if you wish to use isofix. I looked at this recently and we ended up going for a Citroen grand Picasso.

It will not work in an A6, however you will fit 3 if you use belts.
