I think the sending off has leveled up the teams on the pitch, but I think mentally Ireland will have the edge. There's huge momentum behind them now, the players fired up and starting to click. There will be belief that they can win this.

Walesave fallen behind at home to a 14 men and were being completely outplayed for the last 10 mins of the half. This is on top of a very poor period where they've lost almost all their games. Could be very hard to turn this around.

You'd barely know POM was off, which is fairly telling imo

I thought it was a bit idiotic of him, that quick penalty

Their scrum half was out of the game though so 14 v 14.

That was a brilliant turnover from Ringrose. We were under pressure there.

Been the best player on the pitch imo.

How did Johnny Williams not get at least a yellow for the high tackle on Ringrose? That would have been a red card in 2019.

He's been really good this season. I've criticised him enough in the past, he has stepped up excellently. Well deserved spot

Beirne was the reason scarlets won that pro12 in 2017
He was hands down the best player in the league that year and has been consistently excellent for Munster since we signed him

He is a world class player

Warburton saying the Williams one is an unfortunate rugby incident. Bizarre

I thought it was a good shout, execution wasn't there. I expected him to sprint it but he obviously didn't see any space so slowed it down for support.

I guess we disagree. He turns it over with the clock in the red and our players aren't in position and we're a man down. Kick down the line would have been better considering how well our lineout is going

    Wales are so bad

Ah, the usual when we are winning...

Welsh player’s body turned very late. POM already had momentum and had his head down, couldn’t see. If he didn’t have the ‘chicken wing’ arm position, is it even a penalty?

Ireland looked good early on against a very determined Wales.

We were shook after the card. All of a sudden losing a bunch of our lineout calls, our scrum in trouble and Wales really came after us. That they struggled to score really gave us confidence and I think we still have a shot.

We've regathered now, have a bit of shape in attack and look much better ball in hand than Wales. Wales will regroup now and look to exploit us more. Hard to know which way things will go from here.

Jennings going all in on O'Mahony and I have to agree. It was reckless to the point that there is a real question as to whether it was intentional. If we do lose this it will be rightly blamed on POM and whilst I don't think his Ireland career is over - I'd say his six nations probably is even if the ban is shorter.

    If my aunt had bollocks.

He went flying in, no control and made contact with the head. No ifs, buts or maybes about it.

The onus is on POM to make sure his tackle is perfect....the players had dropped, he didn't look and careered straight into the jaw of the prop....was it deliberate...no of course not...was it a red, yes, yes all day long

Totally! But if he had of found the space in the run we might even be up another few points going into the break.
I do 100 percent about the line though. Way better option.

I’d like to assume he factored in Tomas Williams pulling his hammy. Not convinced though

So by your logic if we absolutely tanked it and the Welsh beat us we really missed POM?

He hit him in the head with his shoulder and ran up at it from 5m away. There is zero mitigation.

Absolutely. POM May as well have tucked his left hand into his pocket he was never engaging it. Lined it up and hit him.

I could understand why he was frustrated given their shenanigans at the ruck and Barnes ignoring but he’s old enough and experienced enough to get over that and he failed to do so. He played a shît game and he won a shít prize.

Wales are not a good team at the moment. Ireland would be looking at a bonus point with a full 15, without POM we’ll settle for the win

Our kicking game has been very good so far. Lowes length and accuracy is keeping the Welsh back fielders second guessing.

Murrays box kicking is accurate and he seems to have regained an extra second of hang time.... His ability to box kick clear with little ruck protection is excellent as his snap is so quick.

We'll need to keep them pinned back and turned around for the second half to disjoint their line as our man down will tell fitnesswise

We’d settle for a 14 man Ireland beating Wales in Cardiff? Jesus expectations are high on here.

It’s pure red mist. It happened earlier this season and against NZ towards the end of the first half of the RWC QF when we were attacking the NZ line. He didn’t get a card in the NZ game but he gave away a stupid penalty.

Barnes was blind to the impact point, I don't think he's done a whole lot wrong in the 1st half.

I have no problem with that, he’s unsighted on the other shoulder and making a call in real time. He left it to the TMO, more than fair.
It’s the shīt hawking at the rucks he has two eyes on that annoys me more.
