Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Top young 8's in Ireland, 23 and under:

    1. Caelan Doris(22/Leinster)
    2. Gavin Coombes(23/Munster)
    3. Paul Boyle(23/Connacht)
    4. David McCann(20/Ulster)
    5. Jack O'Sullivan(22/Munster)

Doris is clear leader here and hopefully his concussion issues clear up and aren;t as serious as feared. Coombes has really pushed on this season and looked more comfortable at 8. Boyle is nearing 50 senior caps for Connacht and a key player for Connacht. McCann looks like a future international for Ulster A recently, finally O'Sullivan has fallen off a bit recently at 8 with the emergence of Coombes ahead of him but undoubted talent there.

Great talent there. Allison seems to have gone AWOL. Don't know that he would ever have been as good as some on that list, but hopefully he doesn't go the route of Hall, Leckie etc etc

That is an embarrassment of riches at number 8 nearly.

Did Coombes initially start as a 4/6 hybrid?

JOS could be more developed physically now but I know a big point of concern in Munster was his ability to keep the weight on. Apparently he has struggled to carry much more than 103 or so.

McCann looks like a real all rounder.

Would Soroka be seen as an 8? I think he's lined out there for the A's.

I had no idea that Doris was younger than Coombes. Further is bright in the backrow provided Doris can get a clean bill of health.
