You want to go on holiday to visit a pal though and might need to quarantine for 14 days on each side of your trip? Your situation may not allow for that with work and length of trip.

These older people are retired and have no dependents. They can easily quarantine and will do it because if their age bracket (they're at risk).

I could do the 14 days quarantine, either side.
But now from Sunday it comes with a €500 fine when one is leaving and again a €500 fine on return.

    Ok I've turned off Joe.

About a month ago a girl i was seeing dumped me. She said we have different lifestyles. She likes to go out and do things. Where as i stay at home. My reaction: we're in level 5 lockdown. Government advice is to stay home.

Found out today having been home in Poland for Christmas shes back there again.

Tomorrow I'll break the 5k limit to look after my father who is 83. My sister and I swap and share his care. Tomorrow is my turn. For a week in rural Galway.

In my mind that's ok. Not ideal, but I don't really have a choice.

There's a nastiness in the air these days, an edginess, a lets all be miserable together vibe and woe betide anyone who goes a little off track, a curtain twitchers paradise in the new Republic. Anger is turned towards the citizens themselves instead of directing it to where it should go. Living in this half life is no good for anyone and bringing out the worst in people

People coming on and boasting to the nation how great their life is in the sunshine, in the trough of people's morale, is what the problem here is. Online here it would be called trolling and I would infract.

Apart from hopping on the Limerick to Dublin bus, anyone she came in contact during that time, any area she ventured etc etc etc

Her very attitude is of someone who didn't stick to protocols anyway when she was here........but she'll be back thinking she's bulletproof when her vaccine is ready for her.

After all.....she's had the ironclad proof of a Covid not-detected test. Treat yourself and others like you have it. Its the best defence.
