Exactly, stop shaming other people for this, if they want blame, blame the ****ty health service for being incompetent for decades and finally catching up on them , or blame CHINA !!!

China did this - remember that.

Do these people ever shame people for regular flu transmission that kills someone ?

People who are sticking to every rule seem to be going mad.

People who are not sticking to the rules are doing much better.

The HSE couldn't organise a p1ss up in a brewery so I wouldn't hold my breath that our vaccine programme will be rolled out with any deal of success.
Not fair to say that at this stage.
They have 207k vaccines and 200k have been given out...what more do you want them to do in that instance?

When we were told no foreign holidays this summer, I felt so down about it, but I am hopeful from September on.
It’s not easy these times so there needs to be a little more understanding even if we vehemently disagree.
It is a mentally tough time.

You want to go on holiday to visit a pal though and might need to quarantine for 14 days on each side of your trip? Your situation may not allow for that with work and length of trip.

These older people are retired and have no dependents. They can easily quarantine and will do it because if their age bracket (they're at risk).

Why are there regulations? What if we all head off on the 19.99 flights and take covid with us - it wouldn't be long before the authorities in the Canaries would be locking people in their flats - they won't be warming the brandies then. →_→

Em......you broke de rules by your very movement......in Ireland

    People are seriously deteriorating mentally.

Older people are assessing their risk and deciding to live abroad.

We can't all do the same. More's the pity.

It's the only game in town. My fear is they will drip feed the last 10k vulnerabilities to milk a few extra months out of the lockdown.

Ireland should know the familiar patter from 'righteous' people, we've surely seen enough of it in the past.
    Authoritarian, moralising deadhead droids.

Not a safe island if people keep coming into it.

This sad story is everything wrong with Liveline.

It's sad your daughter is autistic, it's sad she's in residential care.

But your challenges shouldn't mean that others cannot live their lives as they see fit. Frank and Una have lived their lives, paid their taxes and should be able to sit in the sun and enjoy themselves. They are Covid free, been tested and no danger to anyone.

This victim culture is so ****ing played out at this stage especially on Liveline where most callers will call in about a certain subject and within five seconds mention they are diabetic or have a sick relative.

    It's poisonous radio.

We can blame the media for the scaremongering and turning people into curtain twithing rats for all this.

Yep and Frank and Una will want to come home soon enough to get their vaccine. Doubtful they will quarantine for 14 days.
