As i said in an earlier post i have cancelled with digiweb and will be moving to another provider in the new year. I wouldn't hold my breath expecting them to sort this out, but they'll be quick enough to take my money. Should i give comreg a call?

As you mention you have cancelled your contract with Digiweb they are really under no obligation to resolve your service issue. Had you stayed it would have been resolved. My post details what happened in my case.

In relation to Comreg you may contact them if you wish. They will advise you to exhaust all options with Digiweb first before they can get involved. They may not however be able to do very much, as they do not regulate SIRO.

Point to note Digiweb along with the other participating SIRO ISP's are resellers only whereas SIRO own and operate the network. All the ISP do is supply the modem/router but the service is installed, activated and disabled by SIRO. All an ISP can do is escalate an issue to them and hope they resolve it, which in most cases they do.

Comreg does regulate SIRO as a provider of communcations?

Just back from my friends house, who signed up with digiweb last February. His upload has also been reduced to 100mb without been notified from digiweb.

That is good to know. I did not mention in my posts that I contacted them earlier this year when I had my issues. They advised that I exhaust all options with Digiweb first and if not addressed they would make contact. Thankfully it did not come to that as my posts indicated.

They did state at the time that they could not contact SIRO as they were not their regulator and referred me if necessary to the Department of Communications. It is good to know that this has now changed.

I was questioning the statement rather than making the statement but it would appear Comreg deals with the consumer outlets so you are probably correct in that they don't deal with the background supplier but rather the billing and CS side of things. But if CS can't fix the problem, it is comreg's issue then

That seems to be correct. Apologies for the confusion

So i have left digiweb and since i've joined Pure Telecom at the weekend my speeds are pretty much back to normal. Very happy with pure so far. Even the xbox is getting more consistent speeds. https://www.speedtest.net/my-result/d/15f1c13c-d39d-4df2-b325-c1527d7986be

    Hi Digiweb,

I'm just wondering whether you offer the top of the range Fritz Box (7590) for sale?

@Digiweb - I just got the text message saying 1GB fibre is now available. While I am still under contract for the next couple of months is there anyway to get the ESB install in advance as there is about 6 poles between me and the nearest spool of fibre (300 meters?) and my connection is above ground.

Also can you advise what your fair usage policy is?

Wow asked the same question with Eir:
Usage in excess of 1TB will be charged at €2.50 inc VAT for every 10GB up to a maximum of €100 inc VAT per month.

By my calculations that could be hit in less than 3 hours?

Yes, this is possible. Would recommend placing an order 6 weeks beforehand if ESB required. Once ESB work is complete you can always delay the final install date until you are out of contract.

FUP is 3 TB, its not strictly enforced and we always notify if your usage is causing issues (no extra charges applied)

Digiweb, can you look into delays of the NBP in Galway and throughout the country? The dates on the site for Galway have been pushed from January-March 21 to May-July 21? I have contacted them myself but received a generic response, hoping that an ISP contacting them may get a better response. I am currently with you on a 10mb line from a cabinet but have signed up for the 500mb service with NBI when available.

Don't hold your breath they're still tricking around with rolls of fibre here, it's been going on almost a year now.

So why were you throttling my speeds then digiweb?

We dont throttle speeds once FUP is exceeded nor do we charge extra

Does anyone have an experience with digiweb without a fixed line. I'm living somewhat rural and the phone line is a waste of time...

Yes. I had their Metro fixed wireless service with phone here where I live in Naas for 13 years, as Virgin Media was not available at my address and DSL was not as good. I found the quality of service to be very good, getting virtually the 30MB offered. I now no longer have the service as I upgraded to their SIRO offering when it became available. However if Metro is available in your area then it may be worth a shot.

Also Digiweb are also offering services under the National Broadband Plan and you can register your interest at https://digiweb.ie/nbi/

    Hope that helps.

If FUP is now 3 TB a month someone should update https://digiweb.ie/fair-usage-policy/

    @collier,
yes, I would agree with that, IF the cap is now in FACT 3TB, then Digiweb should update their website ASAP.

    Is digiweb satellite?

Also digiweb vs imagine? Any experience?

I am currently with sky , previously with eir, was always told I was the furthest out on our line from exchange and my speed was always slow. Have been doing speed checks lately and my speed goes from 1.4 Mbps to .8mbps . Anyone any suggestions of where to try next.

Digiweb is lots of things. It depends on where you are, what you choose and what is available to you.
