For a comparison on the distressing stats on Care Home deaths associated with C19.

Ireland - 369 deaths in Care Homes in MONTH of January = c.80 per week

Office of National Statistics in UK have just revealed that 2364 C19 related deaths in CareHomes in the WEEK ended 22 Jan.( = c.180 per week for Ireland.
2357 similar deaths reported in week ended 29 Jan [ source Care Quality Commission UK ]

The figures for the US are also desperately bad. Not easy for anyone to manage the high risk area of care homes .

People should tone down a little on the emotional outrage and try to have some understanding for the powder keg situation that Care Home staff work in.

I've mistakenly done it dozens of times, and corrected it with an initialisation to verify it. No point in wasting a cheque.

    Never had one come back.

I'd say Duffy never went 6 minutes before cashing a cheque let alone 6 months.

The other day I found a cheque for 200€ From VHI. dated 2018. Uncashed. Never opened the bloody envelope . Thought it was data protection or some such stuff. Lazy I know.

These are cheques drawn on a foreign bank in Euro. They have to be sent "for collection". Can take up to a month to clear plus charges.

Ryanair should not have done this.

It depends, if you want to avail of certain packages. Also when flights went wrong I found the travel agent I used to insist with airline that I get a more convenient routing when they changed timetable.

In that instance, you should contact VHI and ask them to re-issue it.
Several years ago I had to ask a company to re-issue an old cheque for a substantial amount, for similar reasons.

If these people booked through a travel agent, then their contract is with the travel agent, not Ryanair!
