Hi - better half had her A2 in for NCT today. It flew thru everything bar the emissions which seem off the charts:

    Low idle:
    CO 1.47%
    HC 79 PPM

    High idle:
    Lambda 0.95
    CO 1.83%
    HC 188

Engine was good and hot on the way in but was left waiting in a queue for 15-20 mins before test.
Car has seen regular, but short distance use since covid. 5-10km a day.

It's a lovely tidy little yoke with barely a mark on it, and its kept well so would like to attempt to sort this myself if i can, but don't know where to start so looking for advice please!

Were you sitting in the q with the engine running?

    I wasn't there, but I wouldn't think so.

Have you got the figures from the fail sheet of the limits allowed? Think it's different for each car/year.

You might get away with driving it in high revs for a while if figures are near pass.

    Low idle: Failing Limits:
    CO 1.47% Above 0.30%
    HC 79 PPM N/A

    High idle:
    Lambda 0.95 Not between 0.97 and 1.03
    CO 1.83% Above 0.20%
    HC 188 Above 200ppm - this was a pass

Edit - sorry that formatted weird when the post was published - the failing limits are on the right.

It's the carbon monoxide figures that look, on paper to my untrained mind, to be off the charts.
