Absolutely correct. Hopefully the penny will soon drop for those who still believe there will be any rapid easing or removal of restrictions.

It is frightening how conditioned you are!!!!

So testing is a bit of a waste of time...

We all agree that the Case Fatality Rate for this country is much lower than we think

    And

We haven't learned a thing over the last year other than severe lockdowns are the only answer...

    And

Whatever we must do, we mustn't compare it to a flu virus probably the closest type of virus we do have experience with!!!

we've (the human race) learned enough about the virus to create several vaccines, 3 of which are proven to be effective and are being rolled out this very minute. that's a lot of learning right there.

It is frightening how conditioned you are!!!!

Probably upset at J&J one shot vaccine news today.

This pretty much guarantees this nonsense will be over by September.

If it wasn't for vaccines we'd be in big trouble....because no one seems to have figured out if any existing therapeutics are effective, or vitamins, or natural diet that helps build a stronger immune system or anything else...just vaccines....for a virus with a case fatality rate that impacts only one demographic really!!!

    Stronger immune system?

I have never heard doctor Tony talk about that on 6.01.

Has any1 else heard him mention it?

    6.01 goes like this

    Tony: I am very concerned.
Journalist: when will we be able to go get a haircut?
Tony: not soon. you ll kill granny. There are x number of cases and x deaths.
Journalist: you are doing a top job. god help you doctor Tony.

    oh and ofcourse

Nolan: trajectory of the cases is very worrying. we will reach 30,000 daily cases a day unless measures are implemented.

in a global pandemic with a very infectious disease, we are most definitely fcuked until we get vaccines. this is not a revelation. there is no living with viruses like this without vaccines.

as for only impacts one demographic? i mean what does that matter? we're all humans. what if it only affected 20-30 year olds?

The virus effects one demographic, the restrictions for now effect the younger demographic.

A day of reckoning is on the way though.

Strange, are you operating in a parallel universe time warp? the 6.01 that I heard earlier today didn't have anything like that from Tony, he was remarkably complimentary about the way that the majority are behaving, as it's resulting in a significant reduction in the number of cases that are presenting.

He did mention that the numbers now are still considerably higher than the figures at the beginning of December, and that we need to stay the course to get back to those sorts of levels, which would seem to be a reasonable objective, even though there is a hope that the vaccines that are about to be delivered (we hope) should result in a further reduction in the numbers that are being infected.

Shore, if it was easy, everybody would be doin it.😁

Well if it only affected the 20-30 year old demographic then you'd have a strong argument that this is not like a bad flu season!!!! Which also regularly poses a danger to the weak and infirmed.

I know plenty who have had it, I am familiar with how uncomfortable it can be to otherwise fit individuals...but our case numbers include people who don't even know they have it...plus more who probably wouldn't have missed a days work...then a percentage (which we can't even put an accurate percentage on, it could be 20%, 10%) of people who are floored for a period of time....this has a very low case fatality rate, there is no getting away from that!!!

The only way you can ascertain how lethal this virus is, is by looking at the people who have died from or with covid!

It matters a great deal what demographic is most affected by the lethal virus, you can tell exactly how lethal it actually is!

it only matters what age demographic it affects the most if you value certain demographics less than others.

What is with the dramatics...it is infantile for person to be unable to discuss the medical needs and limits of care for everyone in all different age groups/demographics.

The guys in power here, Donnelly etc have recently said the vaccine won’t make a great amount of difference

It’s called tempering expectations until there is more certainty. Multiple governments were spooked by the “variants”. It’s seems the vaccines still provide protection though, so the positive messages will increase. It’s already been evident in the past couple of days to done extent
