It was probably discontinued because nobody was paying back the loans. Joe is implying that there's something untoward going on.

of course, too many people don't want to pay what they owe in this country, making it way more expensive than it should be to borrow money for decent people.

    This won't be mentioned

Well it's worked for people who "forgot" to pay their inshuredance, and for people who gave their account details and PIN numbers to "nasty fraudsters"..........

Expecting Duffy to draw a daft equivalence to handing the house keys to a ne'er do well.

If she put the €120k in to Apple shares in 2005 it would now be worth €5.5 million.

The nub of all this is that that kids/offspring are gutted that they are not getting the inheritance they think they are entitled to?
The people who got the loans will never have to pay a red cent.

That was your decision :) lol
No point in blaming someone else for poor financial decisions though, with loans credit cards etc people know the terms and know it will have to be paid back.

I wouldn't spend money I don't have. Only loan I have ever had is my mortgage, never even had a credit card.

Yep, and after the bank take their half of the house, the remainder will be cut into for inheritance tax, too.

I'm sure there are signed loan agreements. Imagine going into a bookies after a big loss saying, " I've made a mistake, can I meet you half way?"

There is one crowd advertising to give you a loan to improve your house which will make it even more valuable to them when you die.
