They are only gone from Sky epg, they are still bring broadcast and can be picked up on FTA boxes.

Exactly. I didn't see the channels committing hari-kiri for Brexit. The freeby group is probably worthwhile for them to be on.

"Sky Ireland told the Irish press in a statement: “There are some channels (not very significant ones) which have been removed from the Irish EPG.

“This is down to the fact that these stations did not wish to obtain an Irish/EU licence post-Brexit and instead chose to be removed."

He said he previously worked for Sky.
He must have totally swallowed the script he had to use, deffo not a bit technically minded and to get his favourite station isn't even technical!

This issue is all about the TV Channels/Radio Stations not feeling it financially worthwhile to apply for an EU Broadcasting Licence; their market is primarily in UK & not sufficient advertising revenue comes from non UK/EU regions.

Caller wasn't actually paying for these stations/channels as they're FTA/FTV ones.

He can still tune into them online, manually into his EPG too I think.

There's no compunction on Sky to reduce their prices accordingly; they also pay Sky Ireland/EU to be carried on their platform so Sky're actually down funds in this way too.

This week we will see 3000 people die from COVID. What is he talking about. 32000 people die every year. 3000 extra have died. 10%, that's all. And many of those could have been caused by missed scans.

Because of Brexit the channels need a licence to broadcast in to EU officially on Sky EPG, unofficially they don't need to worry about what people receive on FTA boxes as they can argue they don't target that market.

I've no idea what the story is with BBC and ITV and whoy they are still on the Sky EPG.
