Imprtance that it has good feedback, is easy on the wrists and will last!

Found a few options i found below:

    https://www.networldsports.ie/golf/golf-mats/forb-driving-range-golf-practice-mat-5ft-x-5ft.html

    https://www.donedeal.ie/golf-for-sale/golf-mat-for-indoor-outdoor-delivered-to-your-door/24603121?campaign=3

ANybody have any experineces with the above or any other recommendations?

In order to bypass the UK and Brexit I ordered one from the Net world sports.ie site thinking they were an Irish company (also have an Irish phone number). They are based in Wrexham Wales. Ive been waiting on my new mat and chipping net to leave a warehouse for 2 weeks. Don't go near them.

I ordered a impact Net off them during the lockdown it didn't arrive for months, but when the package arrived there were 2 parcels and 2 Nets, happy days

I would second staying away from networldsports."ie"

I ordered a 9x9x9 practice net and mat on the 15th December and paid €50 for 2-4 day delivery., the first 2 boxes arrived within the 4 days, the final box arrived on the 4th Jan and I'm still missing parts so the whole thing is unbuilt in the shed.

Can't get any response from them, even though their website is being updated so they are still working.

    A strong "Avoid" from me.

Also the quality of the mat is pretty poor imo, its 15mm but 13 of that is grass so there is nothing underneath it. I bought a solid 1mx1m rubber impact mat from mcsports.ie for €25 to go under it, I wouldnt use the forb one without it.

I finally managed to get through to the Net World Sports.ie call centre (answered by a very nice Welsh person) and she happily cancelled my order. They have no idea if the mat made it to Ireland or if it is in a warehouse awaiting some confirmation to be shipped - almost 3 weeks after purchase. Very disingenuous to make out they are an Irish domain company - moral of this story: do your homework and let the buyer beware.

I've used Golfbays uk Last Summer - very happy with the mat - No wrist pains, great to hit irons off & takes a Tee - I've actually gone with BirTees (https://birteegolf.com/) now as I was breaking tee's the whole time.

But with Brexit etc not sure what the situation is now

I bought one of the DoneDeal mats. Very good for forgiveness and you can use normal tees.

I’ve also used the Carroll golf one in a range. Thought it was good, how much is it?

Looks like NetSportsWorld is out so!

I bought the base and it is needed to keep it in position. The base doesn’t quite match the mat size which is the only downside to it. Don’t think the woodies thinks would hold it as it doesn’t have the grips.

Using tees is a big plus.

    How are you finding it?
I found that once I added the 15mm rubber mat from mcsports it works out pretty well.

I got this net from Elverys for €75 quid (there was a 15% discount at the time):

    https://www.oneills.com/precision-multi-sport-practice-net.html

and this mat from net world sports:

    https://www.networldsports.ie/forb-launch-pad-golf-practice-mat-dual-side.html

Both do a grand job for the back garden as long as its not too windy, the net could end up in the neighbors garden!!

The "rough" side on the matt is probably wearing out the bottom of my 7 iron a bit, but nice to be able to get a few swings in! I doesn't hurt my wrists or anything like that though.

Just to note it says "pop up design" in the description, I wouldn't be taking it down after every use, probably takes 10/15 mins to put together from the box. Can just leave it face down in the garden and lift it up when using - there are 4 pegs / stakes included to keep it in the ground.

Do you use anything to get yourself level with the mat (i.e. do you stand on something?)

  • Registered Users Posts: 76 ✭✭mk7775

No I just wear my golf shoes, which have a small bit of a heel in them - I hadn't even thought about it until now!

I haven't noticed any height difference - feels the same as I would hitting off a mat at a range.

So *that* explains all those hooks! :D

    Thanks.

I've actually bought both of these since lockdown. Both do the job really good. Only small issue is with the o neill's net, the steel pegs into the ground, they have bent or warped from me pushing them back in after strong wind or a storm have moved net a little. Overall very pleased.
A great portable net, its really strong and you would get it up or down in 10/15 mins as u said. I've left mine up the last 7 weeks though.

    Hi,

Does the mat move around after every shot. Also is there a way of tying it down

Does the net take a driver hit ok? Have it in my cart on another site, but wasn't sure about it.

    - no haven't noticed that at all....used driver, 5 and 7 regularly and no issues with movement..don't think there is any holes for tying down...but it's heavy ish so generally stays put

It hasn't moved from any stroke from any club, and I've hit heaps of drives. It looks light but it's really solid. You'll need soft ground, and a mallet/ hammer, to anchor it good and tight with the pegs.

Mine is the Forb launch pad. Its very heavy for its size so don't have any need to add anything else to it. Its a good mat.

Brought a putting mat off them last year, was waiting 12 weeks for it, your right, stay away from them.
