I got a taxi to the airport in Las Vegas a few years ago and was talking to the (female) taxi driver. Her son had just been sent down for 3 years. They use the 3 strikes and you're out system. Mandatory minimum of 3 years.

She explained he had stole a car at 16, then been caught with weed on him and most recently he'd stolen a DVD from a shop. She was very upset and I felt for her, but at the same time, I was thinking, with 2 strikes against you, knowing a third lands you in prison, WTAF would you steal a DVD?!?

She needs the money to do an extension to his cell, so that she can move in with him. I think we know someone who will do the gutters for her. I am sure we can find a few similar characters to do the rest of the work.
