The Sony 790 is currently on back order with Sony as we await for them to supply us with more stock.
At the moment you are up around the £499 mark for an Atmos receiver like the Yamaha RXA680

In regards to speakers. It depends if you want compact like the Monitor Audio Mass 5.1 priced at £549

For the inceiling speaker I would recommend the Monitor Audio Pro 65's.

No ETA on the Sony 790 as of yet. I will keep an eye on our feed as we are waiting on other Sony bits too.

We have had no issues with the Mass speakers to be honest and they are very popular. For a small speaker they produce good sound quality.

You could check out the Q Acoustic 3010i 5.1 which would sound great priced at £599

I thought you mentioned above you wanted ceiling speaker for Atmos, that's why I recommended the Monitor Audios
When it comes to Atmos if you can fit in-ceiling speakers then that is the way to go.
The upward firing are designed if you can't use in-ceiling. They do a very good job but speakers in the ceiling do it better.

If you wanted to use upward firing there are the Dali Alteco C1 priced at £289

No problem at all.

Inceiling is the way to go if you can get them fitted.
Most people in their home are unable to cut holes and run cables for inceiling speakers and then use the upward firing as an alternative.
