It went red from 42 to 38 and people bought, would you still advise people to buy as it continues falling?

If you go back in the thread to March 2020 you’ll see lots of people buying after a 50% drop. They’re doing ok today by my maths.

    Yeah wait until it’s 100K +

When the market is down in the dregs, all the bears come out of the woodwork predicting doom and gloom. When it's up 100's of percent in a short while, all the over-exuberant bulls are out, "we'll never see these prices again", "snap sale", "next stop 100k", etc

Last BTC i bought was years ago, and last Eth was a stock up at sub 100, if people want to buy at these prices cool, but I wouldn't touch with a barge-pole.

Years ago? The gains you missed out on despite apparently knowing what Bitcoin is. 600% in the last year alone. Great woman for the advice.

Happy for your gains, but the nonsense you spew is gas.

If you go back in the thread 4 weeks you'll see plenty of people bought closer to 42 than 5 k

By my maths they arent doing too well

Still advising people to buy red days?

I bought BTC (and some others) in 2013/2014. Started buying Eth early 2017. Topped up on low Eth (and alts) in 2018 and 2019

I sold a small amount in Dec 2017, and have been selling calculated portions in the last 2 weeks.

Not sure what "nonsense" you are referring to, as mentioned, if you want to exuberantly buy right now, go for it, I wouldn't.

Tell me what would happen to your wallet/fiat value if everyone (grayscale included) took your expert advice right now and stopped buying / averaging into BTC / ETH & out of FIAT :)

If you bought on any of the 99.9% (literal) of the days in Bitcoins history, you’re not in the red. Time the market all you want and come back to me in a few years.

In the 4401 days since the genesis block, how many days could you have bought, and be in the red?

    It’s a simple question.

Since you are advising to buy, how much BTC gave you bought in the past 4 weeks?

That wouldn’t be great OPSEC would it? You can google the answer to my question if you don’t want to answer it yourself :)

A couple of people on boards aren't going to make a difference to prices. As we've noticed over the years new bull/bear posters disappear very quickly when the market reverses ;)

Almost a half-decent signal at this point, along the lines of the classic "when the taxi drivers start talking about stocks it's time to sell"

There has never been a time when people, such as yourself, haven't been adamently advising on the crypto/bitcoin threads against buying bitcoin, even as it headed for a ridiculous €1,000 a coin.

There are 'i told you so' days like today, then there are months of crickets.

I think you are in the wrong thread, as you clearly aren't here for the excitement part.

Since this thread was created the bulls have been a constant, as has your incessant contrarianism.

A ten coin transaction is enough to measurably move the entire market, albeit by a small amount.

On second thoughts Dohnjoe, you were crazy bullish in February 2018 after the market dipped 20% from ATH, what happened you?

I'm bullish now, I believe the market can climb more, but I certainly wouldn't buy. A potential 2x or 3x doesn't offset the risk of a large drop, for me. For others they may fancy their chances at that. The charts are far too parabolic for my liking.

As for all these new posters and reregs blindly encouraging others to buy on a parabolic slope, cool, but they weren't around when it was red and Eth was sub 100.

    Each to their own

I'll buy too when the price action meets my re entry criteria.

    Right now it doesn't.

Can I ask what that is.
I agree. Fair enough if you are in massive profits right now but for anyone just entering now I'd wait.

Well, it was very exciting watching the meteorical climb and thinking of what I could do if I sold last week. However, that's not in my plan. Now looking at what level I will accumulate more so that the next ATH is even more exciting.

Sold some ETH, tempted to buy back now. Is this red going to continue

The genesis block is irrelevant for anyone who bought in the last 4 weeks. As are the thousands of days previous to Jan 2021.

So tell me, which way is the market going to go over the next few months / rest of the year ? In your opinion.

Anybody who bought without a good idea of past performance (including drops) or who's bought without giving a toss about what a genesis block even is has chosen the path of a pure gamble. If they sell and lose money after buying the top they've chosen and deserve to lose that money.
