There is only one reason the schools aren’t open:

    Teacher Unions.

Doesn't matter what the suggestion is.......not even talking about de Covid malarkey.......anything related to work actually.

The teachers unions only ever object, never have a solution, its their only reason for existing.

Round of sackings would shake up that aspect of our education system.

My sister is a teacher she is based in northern ireland but works in the south.
She thinks it's madness, she deals with troubled students on a one to one basis mostly.

Amanda will be out for the rest of the year.

How many of these wusses won't go to the supermarket? Surely that's as dangerous

    No time for these whingers

I know 6 teachers. 4 primary and 2 secondary. All are actively teaching via zoom/seesaw etc. They all hate these methods. They would rather be teaching normally.

They are not happy with having to attend currently due to the exceptionally high community transmission.

    I don't blame them.

There will be a few groups remembered for their behaviour during this pandemic

    Absolutely.

They wanted extra holidays before Christmas, let's not forget.

This saga goes to show the power of the public sector unions. And people try to say the "right" - whatever that is - controls this country.

I was talking to a friend of mine last weekend who teaches in an autism unit in a primary school. The teacher and the SNAs working there were more than happy to go in so the 5 kids could go to school.

Some teachers are doing what they can, despite union advice/position. I know of one primary teacher who visits and helps 2 autistic children, daily.

Put the teachers on the PUP and they won't be long making the union change their mind.

easy to solve the issue. Give the special needs kids and teachers who teach them the Jab and be done with it.

Sadly I'm old enough to have paid to see it in the cinema!

It's on regularly on one of the satellite channels (maybe Sky One?). Might give it a look some time, but probably not - TLJ annoys me, as does Colm Meany, and does Gary Busey, and that's before I get to...........

The scene was burnt in to my teenage mind.

That film is some of Seagals most thoughtful and interesting work, an insightful performance with real feeling, vastly underrated.

RTE Presenters and esp. contractors should be put on the PUP for a while.
