In Turkey and had a very good few seasons there, He is available for about £2m as his contract is up in the summer.

    Honestly, not a bad option.

He was in a really bad place when he joined us, dealing with severe depression and addiction.

Went to Turkey and sorted himself out though (few great articles/interviews on it), and has had a few really good solid seasons. 6 months left on his contract now.

    Glad to hear it.

Now we just need to figure out which one of Salah, Mane or Bobby he's going to put out of the team.

When VVD was fit and played the team set up with a super highline & press with VVD and Matip/Gomez playing at the center circle both Robbo and TAA played in the opposition half.

Right now we defend deep in our own half and how often do you see the fullback play in the opposition half now, both TAA & Robbo spend more time in their own half defending since VVD was injured.

The reason we could play the super highline & press was because Fab was there to protect that highline and now Fab is back in CB and the highline is no more.

What we are missing now is that highline and the press in the opposition half.

    Exactly

Doesn't seem like he wants to leave to me anyway.
Asked about his future by Norwegian channel TV2, Salah said: "I do not know.

"If you ask, I say I want to stay here as long as I can, but as I have said before, it is in the hands of the club.

"I will always give 100 per cent to the last minute I am in this club and I want to win as many trophies as I can.

"And I want to give 100 per cent to the people, who show me love all the time."

He doesn't really have many options but to stay. Barcelona are in serious financial trouble, Madrid have eyes for Mbappe only.

There's still a lot of delusional fans on here, thinking that this is a blip, it's not, we haven't played well since after the lockdown. At the moment it might look like we're in a title race, but the reality is we won't be in a few weeks time.

I think the lockdown affected us more than any other team, knowing that the league was wrapped up, nothing to play for after lockdown and not really being able to celebrate the league win properly. I really think breaking the points record should have been the goal after lockdown to keep the squad focused.
I think a malaise set into the squad in the games after lockdown, didn't care about breaking the points record or
didn't really give the fringe players and youngsters more game time, we ended up doing neither, let themselves get hammered against City and let bad habits seep into the squad. Even at the start of the season with pretty much everyone available the attitude wasn't right. We have been unlucky with injuries, but, it's deeper than just injuries.
This season despite not playing well even up to a few weeks ago was a great opportunity to assert our dominance over City in particular and possibly seeing off Pep at the end of the season, which would make next season easier for us, instead City and Pep look refreshed and renewed for the fight and it's us that's in trouble.

I honestly think we will not win the league under Klopp again, this was the pivotal season, had we won this season, I think we would go on and win more. That might sound like an outrageous statement, but, all our rivals have the financial might in the transfer market, which we can't compete with. Our squad is likely to get weaker as our rivals get stronger. It's an uphill battle from here for us.

If Salah just went on and on about how he loves Liverpool and never wants to leave them Edwards would have him over a barrel come contract extension time, if he bats his eyes at Madrid and PSG and throw down a big contract Liverpool will be forced to match it to keep him, that's what he pays his agent for. Pay very little mind to comments like these in times like this.

From "everyone else is delusional" to "Klopp will never win the league again" in 200 words.

ah here. delusional! Two issues, cb cover and covid. Add a bit of bad form in attack and we have a bad run. We mightn't win the league now, or we might challenge but you're making some big assumptions there.

Its funny actually but we are going through exactly what City did last season, short in CB, season long injury to there best one and they ended up playing their best DM in defence, unbalancing the midfield.
Look at what Fabinho is doing at CB, he is an absolute monster of DM, one of the best in Europe if not the best and we are missing him.

Get in a CB, Fab back in midfield and Jota back into the attack, we can have a really strong end to the season. City look sharp and tight now but no one is going to run away with this.

Calm down, its a tough season, we are going through a bad "patch" or what ever you want to call it, or how ever long it is going on for.

Remember last year when everyone said Pep was going to leave City? And now they are on the up and going to walk the league?

I thought Robbo was class yesterday had absolute no problems defensively and was probably our best attacking outlet,

The sky crew gave Shaw loads of credit (he played well) but Robbo on an off day was still far more comfortably defending and attacking
He is just world class ,

Pity Bobby didnt square it to Robbo, he would have had a great chance of a shot on goal

    Sure was,

Such a pity Taki never looked like the player that played against us, he would have been brilliant to have as an altenative to Bobby ,

Seemed so aggressive that night they played us but has been anything but since,

Van Dijk is out for the season.

Matip has been injured twice already & you'd expect it to happen again. Gomez has been injured twice, the second putting him out indefinitely.

Thiago & Jota will have been injured for 2.5 months each.

Alisson (twice) Keita (twice) Milner, Hendo, Shaq, & Trent, have all been out injured also. All of these injuries mentioned are significant injuries resulting in a lay-off of 10 days or more.

As well as that you have Salah, Mane & Thiago have all been missing at times due to COVID-related absences.

On top of this you have the ridiculous VAR decisions that have gone against us that don't seem to go against others.

What can go against us, has gone against us this season.

All of this & we are still only 3 points off the top.

Other clubs must be kicking themselves that they aren't further ahead of us & rightly so. We've been very much a make-shift team for the majority of the season.

There's an argument there to be had that had these freak injuries not occurred that we would be p1ssing the league at this stage given how it's gone so far.

How can anyone say that they don't think we'll win a league again under Klopp?

Klopp hates it, but on paper at least the team seem to like it .

    Burley in 3 days
    United 3 days after
    Spurs 4 days after
    West Ham 3 days after
    Brighton 3 days after
    City 3 days after

We had an eight day break from 19th of Dec to the 27th, didn't play Boxing Day . And a 13 day break between the League game on the 4th of Jan and playing United yesterday on the 17th.... but also a 9 day break between the Villa cup game and the United game.

Never seems to help all these gaps in games.

No breaks now, a little run and we're back to the top......... but also the potential to lose a lot of ground of course. But I think we'll enjoy these quickfire games.
A chance to find form .

I think he hates it when we are playing every 3 days but our opponents have a week to prepare. If both teams are playing every 3 days it evens it out. This time we should be in the same boat as the other's until end of February or early March.

I think Fulham beat United on Wednesday, and Villa draw with City. Villa are no mugs. Leicester play Chelsea, could go either way.

I think Liverpool are top with a win on Thursday against Burnley , or at least 2nd

Fulham are poor and UTD haven't lost away from home all season so its not going to happen at Craven Cottage. Best result we can hope for there is a draw.

It looks like non of the under 23's forwards are scoring goals either so no point of calling any of them up.

The two that might have got a chance are both out with long term injuries.

I think without all the injuries we would be in cruise mode in the PL right now and thoughts would be more about how far we can go in the CL. But not much we can do about lots of bad luck. It still far from over but theres a real feeling we need to get our skates on now and will be under pressure to beat City in a few weeks time. We've done that before plenty and Klopp has Peps number so its not beyond us.

Even if we do come up short its still madness to think Klopp will not win another league. The players would be hurting to not retain it and that is a serious motivator for next season. With VVD returning, Fab and Hendo back to position and a full season Thiago we'll be very much contenders.

I'd be absolutely delighted to be proved wrong, but, I think that while we'll challenge for the title, utimately we'll fall short as our strength in deep won't be able to match City's, who can buy who they like if there's a gap in the squad, we can't do that, that's why I think we won't win the league again, not that Klopp isn't good enough to do it, it's because he'll be hamstrung by finances. In the summer we need at least 1 ( probably 2)CBs, a replacement for Gini in midfield, at least one forward to replace either Mane or Salah (I think one will leave this summer) and Firmino needs to be replaced too as he seems to have completely lost his way. At a minimum that's what we need this summer, but, will the funds be available for that? Also VVD and Gomez may not be the same when they do come back.

Fulham are appalling, 1 win in 10. United will beat them handily.
