Is there an option for neither?

I had that same model and same year Insignia. Never again. Was a **** show from the start and also one of the least economical cars I've ever driven.

Had a mountain of trouble with the DPF and electronics. Although when it did work, it was very nice to drive

    Cheap for a reason.

Thanks for that. Any opinion on the BMW?

    Look up 'N47 engine'.

I've driven an Insignia on several occasions and was not happy with it. The newer model Astra is a better drive imo even if it's from the class below.

Would you consider a Superb, Passat or even a Mondeo?

    Interesting read. Thanks for that!

I would consider any saloon once they’re reliable :)

Around 2010 you could get a lovely Saab 93 Aero diesel. Beautiful cars.

    Laguna megane in mark 3

Seat Leon or exeo or similar

    Octavia or superb

    Mondeo

Insignia are a ticking time bomb.....

Know a garage who’s business is importing cars from uk all less than 4 years old vw’s BMWs focus’s etc etc. They always have a good number of Audi A4’s and Opel/Vauxhall Insignia’s in stock.Owner told me he could make a living on just those two car types. Those on a budget but want something fairly new go for the insignia those with a bigger budget go for the Audi. Insignia could be very well laiden with extras but still 6-7 k less than a fairly average A4.

Less bad than the others. Give us your budget and your area and we can have a look for you.

    Between 3-4K, Dublin Kildare area
    Thanks 😊

Tougher than i thought. Put your details into Donedeal, diesel, saloon, 4k budget, Dublin and Kildare and in fairness it's mostly Insignias and 3 series that show up.

Something like this might be worth a call. The PSA 1.6 isn't without it's issues but they wouldn't be as catastrophic or expensive as the Opel or BMW. That's still a smart looking car, and doesn't looked ragged. It is a UK import and mileage isn't stated but worth an enquiry.

I know it's a smaller sized car and not a premium looking car but it is a diesel saloon, these Fluence are actually a really steady car, the 1.5 is a very dependable engine and the cars themselves are reliable and cheap to run. Worth a shout as a wildcard maybe.

    What do you drive now?

Driving a 2005 BMW 320D at the moment.
I’m not necessarily looking for a diesel...

Just spotted this car, mileage is good. Anything to look out for?

Try get the 2.0 the 1.6 can be absolutely dirt if not minded like a baby and then cared for on top of that....

The one I posted earlier has a nicer engine and is higher spec. That white one is as basic spec as you can get in them, it's also a UK import and I'd be very dubious of that mileage.

    It's gone the 2.0 one

I'd keep looking then, that white one is misery on wheels imo.

    Something like this....

Look up fluence or megane too if suits.
