nixon was never impeached. He resigned before that could happen.

You are of course correct it was Johnson, Adam Bolton was talking about Nixon and that's why the name was in my head :D

The most bipartisan impeachment vote in US history.

And trump is the biggest disgrace of all..

Totally debased the office of POTUS

But how does that affect anyone in the real world? What's the tangible consequences of debasing the office for ordinary People?

So in your eyes neither Clinton or Nixon were impeached?

    Nixon wasn't.

Bill Clinton's impeachment seems so weak in comparison. On the same basis, Trump should have at least a dozen impeachments by now.

It wasn't the prospect of impeachment that made Nixon resign. It was the inevitable outcome of the subsequent Senate trial.

Impeachments are pretty meaningless in themselves. Its the following trial that is the big deal

    Even worse than Bush Jr?

Memories of US presidents only started in 2009 or 2016 for some people.

A violent mob invades Capitol Hill.

They are close, but two Impeachments and his efforts to overthrow constitutional democracy clinch it for Trump.

Yup It was Johnson, Bolton on sky was talking about Nixon and it was a mistake on my behalf.

    what has he won?

When it's not upheld in the Senate.

Clinton too was acquitted in Senate, he never actually was removed from office.
Nixon resigned, he again wasn't removed from office . We'll have to wait to see if Trump is removed from office, but he'll be out of office by then, so some claim it has no standing to impeach a citizen.

Only 4 presidential Impeachments in US history renders them a bit more than "meaningless".

It's mind boggling the nebulous standards of Republicans

Half a million Iraqi lives versus 2 impeachments and you think it's a tie?

    I'm confused.

Are these the articles of impeachment or is he actually gone?

I thought the Senate had to back impeachment by two-thirds?

If it's only articles of impeachment, it won't pass.

Was clinton impeached in your eyes?

He has been impeached now, as Presudent.

Once again he has been impeached while president. Jesus wept, would you please educate yourself on this.

They are merely bad publicity if it's not followed through with a conviction.

Impeachements likely to become more common now as the effect of them has been exposed as weak.

Covid deaths are probably over half a million if full figures were known.

    And that's in 11 months.

I can see Trump creating his own party, that's what will happen if republicans abandon him. He'll rip them apart, .

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,020 ✭✭✭JJayoo

So the democrats want their ' gottcha' moment and the Republicans, like rats fleeing a sinking ship, want people to heap all the anger/disgust on trump and not the party.

Trump is gonna leave the whitehouse with a big suitcase full off the countries secrets

And himself in the process and most likely the country if he does do that.

    The twice impeached party?
    He'd be the only member.

Ok if we're doing the body count, 400k dead from Covid and counting.

Lol I dislike Trump but to claim he created covid is as bad as anything he's come out with.
