Ivanka Trump is not expected to attend Biden’s inauguration next week, according to a WH official.
While she respects his transition to power, according to this official, the official notes children of outgoing president’s do not traditionally attend.

Honestly I'd have half preferred if she went, I'd feel like the mob would be less inclined to try a second time.

dont you have to be invited first before you say you are not attending?

Didn't Trump uninvited a team from the NBA when they said they will not attend after been invited

Republican just standing there in silence. Pathetic.

Is there a time set for the vote?

When they're out of floor time. Very soon.

Impeachment could well be successful, McConnell is open to convicting Trump.
while the press has been full of speculation, I have not made a final decision on how I will vote and I intend to listen to the legal arguments when they are presented to the Senate.

He's lying, giving a thin veneer of decency before he says he's heard the arguments and can't see enough evidence.

Not impeaching Trump will likely come back to bite the Republican Party in 2024.

    It won't even be remembered.

Republican voters will have a new messiah presented to them just before election time and Trump will be forgotten pretty quickly.

Is it 2/3 majority they need?

    That’s possible.

It may embolden other Reps though.

    Simple majority for impeachment.

Here comes that vote on HR 24, Impeaching Trump for inciting an insurrection. https://www.congress.gov/117/bills/hres24/BILLS-117hres24ih.pdf

Too late to Nixon his way out now.

Chuck Todd: 'already, more of the President's own party are on the record voting to impeach him than there was for Bill Clinton or Andrew Johnson.'

What's the outcome for Trump on this if he's impeached here but survives the Senate trial vote?

So if this vote passes, what happens next?

Impeached twice is something else though.

He'd still be able to run again

    Still have a pension

    Still have a travel budget

    Still have lifetime secret service

Still have an office and staff after leaving

So really is this just symbolic? Surely there's no way they'll get the 16-17 votes in the Senate to reach the 67?

Nothing AFAIK, just the record of being the first president to be impeached twice. So much winning.

It seems that the Trial won't begin until the 19th at the earliest, and has to share time with cabinet confirmations.

To this day, its still mind boggling how such a known charlatan has got so far in life.

Literally has bluffed his way to the highest office. It will be one for psychology studies in years to come.

Doesn't the senate not vote to remove him from office then ? Assuming the Dems don't have majority yet there
