Well if he gets convicted in the senate he can't even run for office ever again, so if Mitch is up for it as rumoured then that maybe wouldn't be a problem

I think it all hinges on Ted Cruz and his allies, will Ted jettison Trump eyeing 2024 for himself? Or will he be thinking of a VP run with Trump? Mike Pence is finished in politics after all this anyway.

Please oh please, let one of them be Ted Cruz.

Ted Cruz is a US Senator, it is astonishing at how poor the knowledge of US politics is here other than Orange man = bad.

It would be too much to hope for. I'd love nothing more than to see that cowardly ****weasel get thrown out of congress, however the three members of congress have apparantly been named and old muttonchops isn't one of 'em.

This the same Tucker Carlson that ate his words after getting a cease and desist from Dominion?

How many of those did CNN get?

Yes, how dare I confuse a senator with a congressman...I should really know better.

Mittt Romney was the only Republican to vote for impeachment the last time, as far as I recall. Two more have said they will vote to impeach, could 7 more actually grow enough spine to do it? Maybe Murkowski from Alaska?

If he does where will the poor trump supporters move to

Perhaps Brazil, seems popular with some and reasonably similar trump style mismanagement for leadership.

Cruz doesn't really matter - He doesn't have any allies in the Senate , No one actually likes him , not even in the GOP.

McConnell is the key - If he votes to impeach then the numbers will be there , it's as simple as that.

There is absolutely no chance that McConnell will be on the wrong side on this.

Whatever way he goes , so goes the result.

So , if the rumours are true , Trump is toast.

Given that McConnell or someone speaking for him hasn't denied this leak yet it could actually be true.

However , I won't believe it until I actually see him cast the vote though.

I can almost hear him now, "they rigged the election, tried to get rid of me not once but twice by Impeachment", I can see him as the GOP Candidate in 2024 and most likely winning. In the crazy game of politics anything is possible. There will be alot of people severely disappointed with Joe Biden just how Obama disappointed. And even more people who would not back Harris in 2024, (Biden is 1 term he says). And in a potential Trump V Harris race there will be only one winner for me. Lets hope Joe Biden does deliver some of what they promise, end the pandemic and get the US and Global economy back on its feet.

He won't be a GOP candidate but he could run independent which will split the republican vote and consign them to the dustbin for at least a decade if not more. Thats if America doesn't become even more fractious in the meantime at which point I wouldnt rule out serious civil unrest and a move towards a possible split into two or three distinct countries.

This isn't nearly an insult anymore. The orange man has proven himself to be unbelievably bad.

Its all bluster basically a false flag to see will Trump preempt it with his own Nixon moment and resign to avoid a GOP Civil war.

Trump will never run again , no matter what happens.

There isn't a chance that his ego could survive the risk of losing a second time , so he simply won't take that risk and go to his grave believing he was robbed.

If allowed he'll play along so he can keep his PAC open to bilk money off the gullible but when the time finally comes he'll make noises about how the system is so utterly corrupt that there's just no point blah blah blah and not run.

He'll keep all the donations of course , but he won't run.

In my opinion he has proven himself to be greatest President America ever had. He stuck to his word and was honest in everything he did and went on no regime change or illegal wars overseas. He is the toughman leader alot of countries aspire to have and never backs down. One mans hero is another mans villian however. An Alpha male leader who was surprisingly socialistic for a billionaire. If any of these yuppie liberals knew politics they could have seen Trump and the likes of George W. Bush were nearly polar opposites.

History will not be kind to Donald Trump. I'm genuinely baffled as to why any right thinking person would believe this self-serving narcissist is a better president than say, Lincoln, or FDR. Baffles the f*ck out of me.

When you say he was honest in every thing he did, do you believe the election was stolen from him, as he asserts?

Nah - She's done , so is Junior

To be honest , she's always been a non starter , even without the latest baggage from her father.

She has zero charisma or personality and can provide absolutely none of the pseudo "common-man" connection that Snr brings.

She can't even pretend to be "self-made".

And that's without the potential indictments coming her way for various dodgy deals done by the Trump family and the Kushners.

The only thing I can say about this post is that I sincerely hope it's a poor attempt at trolling.

If you're being serious, then you need to take a long hard look at what you look for in a leader. Trump has debased the office of President of the US since the day he took office. He is an absolutely disgusting and loathsome individual and if that's the sort of person that you admire, then I'm glad that I don't know you.

Mitch likely knows a lot more about what will come out regarding the attack and what they're worried that will happen over the next few weeks.

There is going to be trials and investigations where this will all be drip fed out over the next year or so. There is a calculation to be made here that by voting to remove they can get on the 'right' side of this and not have their party and legacies tied to Trump as closely as it will if they don't get rid of him (even at this late point).

Nope good few countries in South America including Brazil, some did go north to the U.S. however.
