    Wrong on all counts
I’ve a good idea how it works- very poorly
I bought at sub 2K and sold (at a non spectacular profit) when I realised that it’s useless - I have no regrets, yes some people will make a lot of money- most are going to be left holding heavy bags, quite a few of the fomoing eejits in forums like this and Reddit will ruin there lives
Nobody using it for what it was setup as - a digital currency
Now just a vehicle for whales to manipulate mentally feeble greedy idiots
Sub 2k my hole... Go back under your rock.

Loving the delusion on display here - Bitcoin is useless

Not as useless as cash sitting in my bank account was. Now I need to emigrate. The amusement value has been great, so far from useless from that aspect also.

I'm glad you have no regrets, in your position I would, but since I'm not, I dont.

A perfect example of what I said earlier, that buying when others are fearful is hard and why people weren't, in general, buying when it was sub 9K and why so many new posters show up when it's going mental in the positive direction.

A minor 15% correction and people are sweating already.

Hodlers are born on days like today. Separate the men from the boys.

Buying when others are fearful has guaranteed a profit on 100% of occasions in bitcoins history.

Love taking it from the hands of the weak. It’s the circle of life. Someone has to do it.

This is the first time in history that Bitcoin has moved $10,000 in a day. The hype when (if) it moves that amount the other way will be incredible.

Bitcoin was sub 2K at one stage right- don’t see anything particularly outlandish about that?!?!?
    Very defensive
I sold at something like 3700 on the way up on last bulk run so I’m up on Bitcoin when this is over I’ll be in a minority especially when you have utter cabbages talking about bargains at 30K

Looks like someone’s salty for selling too early :)

so what do people think the impact would be to the Bitcoin price if the Chinese miners who control over 50% of the mining are taken out?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,906 ✭✭✭Poor_old_gill

If you have invested in Bitcoin then you expect, or should expect, a decent amount of volatility. It’s an asset to hold your nerve with.

The only people I see coming out with smug comments now are those who never bought in and try to pass off their regret as some kind of rational decision.

Truth is- you were too scared to take to risk and now too scared to admit it.

Bitcoin might well go very close to 20k in the next week but it will go past 40k in the next month.

Expect this volatility and hold if you see it as an investment but if you plan on day trading Bitcoin then you’re a loon ball

Taken out? Sounds like the mob is after them

    Any thoughts on ADA/Cardano?

It's got potential. I don't have a big bag yet.

We’d have a maximum of two weeks of volatility and prices no doubt crashing before the difficulty adjustment takes place and things are back to normal.

You don’t need to have been posting on this thread to know the arguments made for & against btc.

They are the same arguments played out across multiple channels.

Not necessarily but those that do factor the high volatility into their decision making process and expect it to go higher as most they believe that it has an end use and also that a move to a more decentralised financial system is inevitable.

Whenever there is a downturn in its value people always try to make the same arguments about it being worthless but it consistently rebounds.

Most people who invest expect these falls but overall most will be on their initial investment.

The reverse smugness in your post is a bit pointless.

Some of the language used in here is a bit cult like. Just saying.

But it lends itself to such language and such polarised opinions.

You either believe in the technology/it’s capability or you believe it’s a pyramid scheme but you have to believe in its use to invest in it.
