I was going to order some items from IKEA. The delivery date given at the checkout is the 25th of January.

Is that date a guaranteed delivery date? Or are they basing it on how long An Post use to take to deliver pre-lockdowns?

Should I expect any order to take even longer?

Based on my experience, they will miss the date and not contact you. This seems to be widespread issue:

Correct, I was waiting on a delivery on Sunday 3rd January, they never contacted me and I had to wait all day. I contacted them on Monday and they said sorry we are behind in deliveries - however they never contacted me!!!

They arranged delivery for Friday 8th and it was delivered that day. However they are meant to send an email or sms 2 days prior - this did not happen, instead I got the email and sms that morning of Friday 8th. Ridiculous. I don't have an issue with delay in deliveries as all are trying but please contact customers!

PS If I didn't contact them, I got the feeling the delivery wouldn't happen.
