  • Strange trip. Why is he bothering going to the border wall at this point?

What's he looking to get from it.

Joy in Liberty a mysteriously funded conservative website paid for a lot of people to travel to the ‘fight the steal’ event on Jan 06

Lots and lots of Qanon nutters had their flights and accommodation paid for by a shady conservative group that cover the expenses for rentacrowd (as long as they’re right wing conspiracy theorists)

    Chomsky(2017) on the Republican party

"Has there ever been an organisation in human history that is dedicated, with such commitment, to the destruction of organised human life on Earth?"

And despite been long debunked Trump was still repeating this one on election day, along with rubbish like there been more votes than people.

Most on here obviously don't believe a single thing that Trump says but unfortunately there are millions who believe everything unquestionably. Even an honest, realist, partisan like BorneTobyWilde seemed to fall for it without the slightest suspicion or due-diligence.

This has gone so far beyond typical political bluster, Trump may not have explicitly incited violence but his rhetoric, mixed with the repeated lies radicalised his followers.

Was reading there is a ring of steel being put around the Capitol building for Bidens inauguration on the 20th, a continuous tall fence all the way around it. Which means anyone planning a further insurrection as Twitter were saying yesterday wont get within an asses roar of the building on the 20th, that much is certain.

But I think theres possibility that something else will go down elsewhere. The man at the Capitol found with a truck full of molotov cocktails and bombs was 70 years of age, from Alabama and (so far at least) he was acting as a lone wolf. Theres every chance other lone wolfs will surface in or around the 20th attempting to bomb federal buildings or state legislatures. These people have swallowed all of Trumps lies about a stolen election and they literally think they are defending democracy. With so many crazies about something bad is likely to happen.

Didn't Charlie Kirk send out a tweet that he'd send out a few buses of people to the protest? Funny how he deleted that.

The exact same people who screamed again and again that black NFL players were unpatriotic scum for peacefully protesting by taking a knee during the anthem.

It's very likely that Trump states with liberal gun laws will see their state capitals taken over by force and declared for Trump.

There could be several Waco style sieges ahead.

Outrageously the wife of Supreme Court Justice Thomas was involved in organising and paying for something like 70 buses.

There may be a chance, or a worry, or a risk, or a danger. But in all fairness, there is no evidence that this is “very likely”.

While I am sure there was a sizeable about who went into the Capitol to cause damage I also be sure there was 1 or 2 who go caught up in the frenzy and just found themselves in there with no motive at all. I am hoping she is 1

It is much harder to do those types of attacks without the cover of a huge crowd of 'innocent' protesters.

They've tipped their hand with the attack this week and every dem legislature is going to be on high alert and staff accordingly. Add into it a Biden appointed DOJ Law Enforcement leads who have the best excuse every to clamp down hard on right wing groups and militias with any reference to planning violence.

As grim as it is, the scale of the event with such media coverage and that this happened while Trump was still president should make this easier to stop in the future.

Some of them see violence as a family event and bring along parents/kids. I dont doubt for a second they knew their kids motives.

'Zip Tie Guy' brought his mother, she was at the protest just wasn't in the chamber when he went to take the politicians hostage

I cant see any organised take overs of building happening as the FBI will be monitoring social media, police and National Guard will be out in force, etc. There might be attempts alright but they will be shut down.

But I do think there is a threat from a lone wolf along the lines of Timothy McVeigh, someone who could plant a bomb on the 20th, just not in Washington because they wont be able to get close. Hope it doesnt happen obviously but all the conditions for it to happen seem to be present. Some Trump supporters will see the 20th as their last stand and many of them are violent people who are not right in the head.

If he was only there to speak with his representatives, as some posters here insist was all they wanted to do, then why would he need to be dressed in military fatigues and carry hand restraints??

In case the representative got all hand animated. You know how public speakers can be when they talk. All gestures and stuff.

. it was more than merely suggesting they walk or casually stroll in the general direction of the capitol to marvel at the wonders of US democracy. It was clear that Trump was requesting the mob to ensure by any *violent* means necessary that those in the Capitol ensured the continuation of the Trump regime.

Is there anything in the articles about the phone call to the geogria sos? Surely that has to be included if pence and Co don't invoke the 25th. Don't think pence has the backbone for this or he might be genuinely worried about his safety from here on out. Many nut jobs out there that would take him out

This is the door that Ashli Babbit was shot on. The same glass break pattern.

Yes. On page 3 of the article for incitement of insurrection.

Yes, it’s the exact same door. In a few moments she is shot following in from that footage.
