Nintendo Switch - portable monitor

Hi all.
Trying to get my hands on a portable monitor for use with a nintendo switch. lots of choices on amazon and examples on youtube. Any retailers in Ireland selling them?
does anyone have any experience of using these portable monitors for gaming? is it worth it.
I originally intended using an elnintendo switch, portable monitorgato and playing on laptop. but came across portable monitors...
any advice greatly appreciated.

Pardon my ignorance but what's wrong with the switch itself? Is it not portable enough?
