Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Figures for December 2020. That might even be a bit higher than Norway. Despite very generous subsidies, Ireland is a few years behind, but there is no doubt we will all catch up. It's going a bit quicker than I expected a few years ago. And plenty of new EVs coming out this year

    69% of what are EV?

    December sales only?
    2020 sales?
    National fleet?

I think its a positive development and happy to see it, I'm going to be EV myself in next couple of years, but just want some context about the figure

December 2020 total car sales. Just for the month. I'll dig a bit deeper and see what's the reason behind this high figure, probably some (dis)incentive behind it. Company cars are an extremely popular perk in the Netherlands and at some point there was zero BIK (like there is in Ireland currently - incredibly a lot of business people seem unaware of this) for BEVs, perhaps this was a final push.

Watch this space, I will get back.

They are gradually phasing out the BIK incentive so we should expect an end of year increase again at the end of '21
2019: 4% up to a maximum of €50,000 (22% for the amount above)
2020: 8% up to a maximum of €45,000 (22% for the amount above)
2021: 12% up to a maximum of €40,000 (22% for the amount above)
2022: 16% up to a maximum of €40,000 (22% for the amount above)
2023: 16% up to a maximum of €40,000 (22% for the amount above)
2024: 16% up to a maximum of €40,000 (22% for the amount above)
2025: 17% up to a maximum of €40,000 (22% for the amount above)
    2026: 22%

That's pretty gradual alright, wouldn't explain a massive dive into EVs at the end of 2020 before it's too late.

This blog suggests there was a rush to register EVs in Dec 2020 manipulate average CO2 emissions for 2020. No idea whether it is opinion or fact.

You'd expect that across the whole of Europe, whereas the NL results mirror the results from Dec '19 which was a new record for plug in sales at 54%
