    Hi Lads,

i am a new fisher in Ireland, only pike fishing catch and release policy on my account.
Would like to know more, have read website fishingireland, Irish waters. but I can't find information about what I would like to know.

1.) Do I need a permit to fish in the river just for pike? I don't worry about salmon/trout fishing. Like River Boyne, i am based in Kildare.
2.) Is there any fishing map for all of Ireland were to see permit required for fishing. (angler clubs etc)
3.) Good online shops for rods/reels/lure/braids and clothing. (i am cold in Ireland, need warmer equipment )

    Much appreciated for any response.

    Thank you

1.) pike fishing does not require a licence, however some lakes and rivers require a licence to fish them, regardless what your fishing for.

    2.) https://www.fisheriesireland.ie/Angling/angling-publications.html

3.) Southside Angling based in Dublin is one of the best shops in country.

    Fishingtackledirect

    One of best online shops
    https://fishingtackleireland.ie/

Clothing? If its warm clothing needed, better off going to an outdoors shop for base layers etc.
Good bargains can be found in Sportsdirect, tkmaxx, army bargains capel st Dublin.

All the above will give u a good start on your angling career.
