Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

PEEHS: Music Acts Picture Quiz (PART 3)

Welcome to Music Acts Picture Peehs Part 3: The Final Insult.

    Sign-ups close at 6pm on 24th January 2021

Read the rules carefully and send your answers (numbered is fine) via PRIVATE MESSAGE to me once you have viewed the attachments at the end of this post and in post two.

    What is PEEHS?

The goal of PEEHS is to give the least popular answer for each round - the one you think nobody else will submit. You get one point for each (correct) answer you submit, plus an additional point for every other player that submits the same answer. An incorrect answer scores 1.5 times the highest score.

The winner will be the person with the lowest score at the end of the game; if you've ever watched Pointless with Alexander Armstrong and Richard Osman, then you'll know the drill.

Here's a quick example for any newbies who still may not be sure:
e.g. 10 players are playing and are asked to name a colour.
5 players say red - they each score five points
3 players say yellow - they each score three points
1 player says black - they score one point and should be very happy
1 player says fish - they get 7.5 points and should probably read the question more carefully in future

    The usual PEEHS rules apply:

NO GOOGLING: This is an honour-based game. You shall not use Google or any other illicit source for information.

SPELLINGS AREN'T IMPORTANT ...Once there's been a reasonable attempt made; however, any answer along the line of "yer man from that thing" will not be accepted!

NO POSTING ANSWERS/CLUES ON THREAD:Please send me a PRIVATE MESSAGE with your answers.

ONE EXTRA SPECIAL RULE FOR MY PICTURE PEEHS: There is one, only one, music act amongst the 80 images who, if chosen by a player or players, will result in a bonus of MINUS 20 POINTS

These bonus points will be applied to the overall table at the end, rather than the Part 3 table. This means many players who have played Parts 1 and 2 still have a chance to win.

This is the final part of a trilogy; a winner will be crowned in part 3, but ultimately what you really want is to be the overall winner. However, newbies are welcome to play too.

The order of the images in each round is completely random, so don't go looking for any patterns (alphabetical, chronological, etc) because you won't find any!  Some images were slightly cropped by google and some are a bit small so you may have to utilise your zoom feature on your browser if you're having difficulty with recognition.

The ten rounds are below in attachments. I kindly request that no one post the images in the thread. If you can't view them let me know and perhaps I'll send you a private message with the images.

Note: If a solo artist who has been in a band is pictured but their band is not in the picture then I want their name (the name of the solo artist, not the band) and vice versa (the name of the band if the solo artist isn't alone).

Remember PRIVATE MESSAGE ME with your answers.

    In too!!
I found this one a bit easier, only 2 sets that I didn't know many artists and had to go for the obvious choices.

    Cheers Reb!!

I didn't win either Part but am well-placed in the overall table, so I'm not sure about that! EDIT: Or indeed: GreenandRed (current overall leader) and the Purple Tin! :(

Do not question the evil overlord, peasant, or I will disqualify you entirely and have you beheaded in a public square.

There will be no more surprises. The only player who really benefits at the moment is bubblypop, and it is a deserved reward for a first place finish.:P

If you win Part 3, you will get a bonus point too.

Things are much more evenly spread in this round.

    Stats:

Highest sheep so far is 9
Lowest sheep so far is 3

    14 images remain unchosen.
    Two questions have three unchosen.
    Two questions have two unchosen.
    Four questions have one unchosen.
Two questions have all images chosen.

At least one big seller remains unchosen.

Wrong answers are down by over 45%!  I'm proud of all of you.*

*Except two players who have ballsed things up.

I suspect that at least some of the unchosen, such as the big seller, are being avoided by everyone because they think they are too obvious! A bit ironic really if that's the case for some of them!

As everyone knows, the overall winner of this competition has the option of accepting a cheap and massively disappointing music prize.

I'm going to post clues as to what that music prize might be and you can all have a stab at guessing or you can ignore me completely as it's just a novel way of shamelessly bumping the thread.

    First clue:

So guessing from Nitwit's guess that that's the Newcastle soccerball kit, and we all of course know the most famous music act from Newcastle...

Is the prize the entire Discography of Ant & Dec?

You clearly mean The Stig and no one knows where they're from, because their identity is more of a secret than Banksy.

Can someone please call The Police on Declan for making such a ridiculous statement. ;)

When I was at college I ran a weekly music quiz in the students union. I'd always buy the worst CD I could find for a quid in cash converters, use one song from it in the intros round, then give it away as the booby prize for the bottom team. The week I picked Psyche up, I remember people really genuinely wanting it :D

That's not as bad as when I picked up Smurfs Go Pop and kept it for myself though :o

Deciding what CD is the booby prize is a very subjective exercise as not everyone has the same tastes in music. Someone could end up with their guilty pleasure!
