Unnerving that he was uneasy or unnerving that he coughed?

Him being uneasy. Not good seeing someone so anxious . But given his age I don't blame him

I find this very hard to believe - 8K positive swabs don't just go missing. I wouldn't be surprised to see this report changed.
Just move on past this and take the positive of today that we may possibly have plateaued.

After 4 weeks lockdown I woud have thought cases would be a lot lower than that in the best case scenario, like I would have thought the same numbers at the end of the last lockdown were feasible. Any reason given why best case was so high?

Eh after six weeks last time we went from 1200ish a day to 300ish a day

So using the same period after six weeks we'd go from 6000ish per day to 1250 per day

Doesn't understand why Professor Nolan hasn't the same doom and gloom mindset as himself.

they actually don't tolerate alcohol that well
In Asian populations, ... due to an inherited deficiency in one of the enzymes involved in the breakdown of alcohol: aldehyde dehydrogenase.

George Lee cannot believe there’s an optimistic and pessimistic scenario.

Philip Nolan is very good at communicating numbers, I bet he would be an excellent lecturer.

He understood what it meant but didn't appear to know how it could feed into projections

I only tune into the press conferences from time to time. Every time I do, I'm struck by the same two observations, how brilliant Tony is as a communicator, and how absolutely pi$$ poor the standard of questioning is from the press.

Ronan Glynn - Evidence now emerging that UK variant not transmitting at a higher rate in children as was first thought.

Theres still a hell of alot to learn about this variant, long road to go yet I'd say.

    Has Ronan snuck off?

So the variant is more transmissible......

So that debate is settled so.

Glad we are acknowledging it's significance finally.

Are you happy with the evidence now? Is it up to your threshold?

Does the UK have anything similar to the NPHET briefings that we have?
What I can see from Sky News is just PM and government people.

Good point. But I don't think we've really heard much to suggest that retail workers/supermarket staff are catching this in great numbers?

Just to throw my own anecdotal in here- I've 2 shops, one in Dublin city, Dury St. area and one in Howth and from those shops I'd know conservatively of 200 people connected with about 60 small businesses and up until this latest lockdown there was no reported infections with any staff or owners.

BoJo frequently lines up beside the CMO and who I think might be someone like Prof Nolan at his press briefings.....don’t know if there’s an arrangement like this over there though

It seems so, unfortunately, and I have been very sceptical :(
