I think your team looks like that because you made your mind up weeks back not to FH Most FH'ers are in the opposite camp. I've only 4 players so am committed to FH.

I think the FH will always be a good time to take a few punts, knowing they're gone from your team the next day, it's like a transfer the week before your wildcard. It's a different mindset. I'll have 6 of your 11 in my team, probably a few punts in the rest.

Yeah if you’ve only 4 it’s an easy decision. I was more referring to people with borderline decisions to make.

In terms of punts, I agree calculated punts are great. I was moreso referring to going with something like Sterling and Lacazette ahead of Grealish and Kane this week. Are people going with that because they genuinely believe the former are more reliable for points this week or because they’re shiny and new with the chip.

Similarly next week you’ll have some people foregoing Son because he has no double, and they could be burnt.

I think first and foremost it’s important not to come into GW20 with a team full of punt central unreliable players when you went into GW16 with a really reliable team full of guys who score points.

Naturally everyone’s circumstances differ and there will also be guys way behind the curve already feeling like template teams will do them no good.

My plan was FH 18 and possibly BB in 19 and had been building towards that. The Utd game going into 18 and moreso the City game going to 19 means I have changed plans and am now wildcarding in 18 and will BB in 19. I have no city players and want to go all in on them they also have great fixtures after 19 and will have some more doubles before 26.
On my wildcard ill have 10 with a fixture in 18 , 13 with a double in 19 and 1 transfer if needed and my team well set up with the fixtures that are coming up after 19. I'll have the FH to use later in the season for the other blank or if I want to attack the doubles.

Looking forward to seeing that team. It’s an interesting strategy and given it centres around the 2 Manchester clubs and probably Liverpool you’ll likely be coming out of it with a strong team for the future also.

If that Leeds Southampton game gets moved form 19 to 18 I wouldn't be overly upset. Pity for those that might have pulled the trigger on FH though after been told by all not to

    Currently no liverpool

I had Salah but got rid of him for Fernandes. So I will only have Robertson from Liverpool. Plan is to field 9 plus Brewster gw18 and TC KDB gw19.

i could switch Sterling to Salah gw19 but I am not sure it is worth it. I know Liverpool are at home but they face Burnley and Man United. Man City's fixtures look more appealing Palace and Villa.

I could not resist having a gawk at the head to heads to see if focusing on Man City and ignoring Salah is a wise choice.

In the last four games at Anfield v Burnley PL the scores have been as follows:

    http://eurorivals.net/head-to-head/liverpool-vs-burnley

    2017 March Liverpool 2-1 Burnley
    (Salah did not play)

    2017 September Liverpool 1-1 Burnley
    (Salah scored)

    2019 March Liverpool 4-2 Burnley
(Salah played from start not even an assist)

    2020 July Liverpool 1-1 Burnley
(Salah played from start not even an assist)

Liverpool v Man United Head to Head (Anfield)

    https://www.11v11.com/teams/manchester-united/tab/opposingTeams/opposition/Liverpool/

2017 October Liverpool 0-0 Man United
    (Salah played)

2018 December Liverpool 3-1 Man United
(Salah played no involvement in the goals fpl wise)

2019 February Liverpool 0-0 Man United
    (Salah played)

2020 December Liverpool 2-0 Man United
(Salah scored in the 90th minute)

    --

Man City v Crystal Palace head to head PL (Etihad)

May 2017 Man City 5-0 Crystal Palace
September 2017 Man City 5-0 Crystal Palace
December 2018 Man City 2-3 Crystal Palace
January 2020 Man City 2-2 Crystal Palace

    --

Man City v Villa head to head PL (Etihad)

March 2016 Man City 2-0 Aston Villa
October 2019 Man City 3-0 Aston Villa

Because there are so few recent head to heads at home against Villa I will also noted the following at Villa Park

January 2020 Aston Villa 1-6 Man City - PL
March 2020 Aston Villa 1-2 Man City - LC

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

If it does I get 8 playing instead of 6. Including FORSTER.

Like then I can get Smith Rowe and go with 9 playing. not end of the world

Would just have had 6 playing in week 18 without the free hit here so I think it is worth playing it this week anyway. Some of that 6 also had difficult games so was looking at a very low points total if I was not to play it. I currently do have Lacazette and Sterling on my free hit team as they have shown good recent form and their fixtures for this week look to have potential for them getting good points. Grealish and Kane may score but I'd be surprised if they got very high returns with both facing fairly solid defenses in week 18. The free hit selection is just for 1 week so it makes sense to me to try and target the teams with weaker defense even if the players selected might not be the top points scorers over the full season.

Son is definitely an interesting one for the DGW. Currently he is my only single GW player for GW19. I’m debating whether a 2 week Rashford punt in for Son is worth it for GW19 & 20:

    Rashford: LIV(A), FUL(A), SHU(H)
    Son: SHU(A), LIV(H)

With the aim of getting Son back in for GW21.

How much of a loss would you have to take on Son? It might be worth it in itself, but maybe not at the cost of .3 or .4 for the rest of the season.

I'd have a full team if Southampton v Leeds is brought forward. Hopefully it is

Seems much to simple a solution. More than likely Shrews will forfeit

Yeah it would be for 0.3 loss so perhaps not worth it

But McCarthy could be back by then.

I think they will get one chance to have it played again and if it can't be played then, it will be postponed.

There will probably be a load of FA cup games cancelled this weekend

Maybe, I just can't see Leeds Southampton getting moved to the BGW

Given the current situation with Covid, they should have just cancelled the cup.

Fulham couldn't fulfil a premier league game 3 days ago due to more positive tests, yet their game in 3 days time vs QRP is still scheduled to go ahead, and if it does - the question as to why the Burnley game was postponed has to be asked - the medical advice that was relevant 3 days ago would surely hold in 3 days time??

Have the same idea myself but I’ve not had a chance to sit down and pencil out a team so not sure how viable it is.

But if 10 in BGW and 13 in DGW is viable then I’ll definitely be going ahead with it.

I'm guessing the moving of the Leeds Southampton game is just pure Twitter hearsay? Or are there any reliable sources to say it could happen?

Crelin has a tweet up saying it’s one of 4 different options

It’s just one of the potential ways to deal with it. No suggestion that it’s the way they intend to go. We probably won’t know that until they actually decide on it.

Had a first stab at the free hit:

    Darlow
    Cancelo Stones Tierney
    Grealish Son Bruno KDB(c)
    Kane Wilson Lacazette

    Yedlin Smith-Rowe Mitchell
    • Wanted a full playing bench in case of rotation or covid cancellations (not worried about keeper as that's the first game of GW so should know if that's off).
    • Tried to avoid 3 players in any game in case there's a game cancelled late for covid (have 4 in Arsenal/Palace but 2 subs anyway).
    • Was thinking of Aguero but another no-show last night has scratched that.
    • Would like Sterling instead of Laca but means downgrading too many players.
    • Other players I considered were Dias, Gundoguan, Leno, El Ghazi, Neto, Saiss, DCL, Coleman
    • Zaha and DCL are the only highly-owned player that could hurt me.

not to be captain obvious but I think save your chips for as long as possible. I'm hoping to get through these 2 gameweeks with all intact still. Choppy waters ahead.
