It's over. Republicans win both senate seats.

Care to elaborate on that statement?

Sums it up. Lots of votes around Atlanlta yet to go.

Loads of small rural counties to come in around Columbus and Savannah. Might be just enough to keep Perdue afloat.

    Loeffler is in danger.

Expecting a large shift towards dems

Fulton DeKalb atl dumps will shift the momentum

Warnock by 2% and Osoff by .9 based on my model. I'm off to bed. Looks secure for dems

    Are you watching the votes?

Republicans are 15/1 to win both seats on the Betfair exchange, I'd be all over that if I thought they were going to win both seats.:o

Grand. So you have nothing to add.

I'm watching the votes. But you made a a statement with no context. Common courtesy is for posters to actually say something worthy of discussion.

Ah I wouldn't even feed it, to be honest. Same familiar tell tale signs are all there.

Wasserman has seen enough in the Warnock Loeffler race.

The biggest dump of remaining Democratic vote is the ~170k DeKalb County in-person early vote, which we expect to break for Ossoff by an 85-15 margin

    Quoted it true

Is this in the same parallel universe where Trump is still president just because he was ahead at the start and so therefore must have won the election? Two Rep. Candidates ahead now, at this moment in time, by a very tight margin..

Point of order, Trump is still the president in this universe.

Per those same rough calculations, there are about 685,000 votes outstanding in blue counties and 350,000 votes outstanding in red counties. (Of course, not every vote in a blue county will be for Democrats and not every vote in a red county will be for Republicans.)

Warnock being called as winner through credible sources

Perdue has a slight chance. Not likely

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,044 ✭✭✭Carfacemandog

Apparently there are about 685,000 votes remaining from blue counties left, and 350,000 from red ones. Ossoff and Warnock have the lead so this does not look great for their Purdue or especially Loeffler.

Too early in my opinion, but Dave Wasserman of NBC (not NBC themselves) has called it for Warnock already.

Edit - I see I am not the only one refreshing 538.:D

Warnock/Loeffler is over. Ossoff/Perdue is closer but I'd rather be Ossoff at this time.

The news channels will keep this as a tossup for as long as possible.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,462 ✭✭✭✭WoollyRedHat

Seems like some people calling Warnock anyway.

Loeffler to make a statement in 1 hour

    Concession?

Trump was 1/25 at one stage

Bookies are a good indicator but never the truth

Do you guys honestly have no ability to see beyond the instant figures?

Thats all we're doing. You're the fool not looking at the them properly.

Huge chunks of mail in ballots and also Dem heavy urban districts in Atlanta, Savannah and Augusta are YET to be declared.

As my friend mentioned above, the bookies have the two Republicans as huge long shots now. They know the score if anyone does.

Wasserman from Cook Political Report sees a Warnock win at this point... Once Atlanta and other suburbs begin the large population area dumps, Ossoff is in a better position to take Perdue out. I reckon the GOP election night party will be shut down in the next hour or so, and the heavy hitters will retire to the bar to drown their (unmasked) sorrows and hatch new plots and seditious revolution...

The very man I was about to quote.

The GOPers need to quickly set about saving their party from a massive schism of Gaetz Rubio Cruz Vs Lincoln Project types and also preventing a Trump, any Trump, from running in '24.

Quite literally, no rest for the wicked.

The Republicans have only themselves to blame for this one. Party unity, normally a strong point for them, has utterly failed, with the various personages looking after their own interests in the post Presidential season in their own districts instead of stopping to think how it would reflect upon the known soon-to-be election in Georgia, and the party's control as a whole.

The senior GA election official is saying something of that nature this evening.

"When you tell people 'your vote doesn't count and it has been stolen' and people start to believe that and then you go to the two senators and tell them to ask secretary of state to resign, and trigger a civil war inside the Republican Party, when we need Republicans to unite,"

    I also like
"Mr. President, you've already lost the state of Georgia," he said. "The thing now is, no matter what you say, you can't undermine the people of Georgia's integrity to know their voting system works and their vote is going to count at the end of the day, one way or the other how this election comes out."

That said, it's absolutely neck and neck. Both Republicans are less than a percent ahead of their rivals.

This screendump is taken from the GOP watch party in Atlanta just now. Apart from the very low key atmosphere, it is noteworthy that there is hardly a mask to be seen while people schmooze away with no social distancing, and Atlanta hospitals full to bursting with Covid patients...

Oh, also- only a single MAGA hat to be seen....

I can't believe the NYT are using that fupping needle.

    Again.

Looking good for Warnock. Will be tight for Ossoff.

DeKalb County to do a vote dump I the next few minutes and should flip both back to Dems.

    More complicated than that.

Trump cost the GOP bigly tonight, but its bull**** to blame him entirely.

Mc Connell saying no the stimulus cheques was political suicide while the GOP attack adds on the 2 Dems were rubbish.

They attacked Warnock and the black church and black rural vote is huge tonight which is not a surprise.

Electing an abysmal candidate like Loeffer to that seat was a terrible call as she has no base whatsoever.

The Economist have called it, 2 X Dems

DeKalb County to do a vote dump I the next few minutes and should flip both back to Dems.

    DeKalb playing chill, like Nevada.
Am I right in saying if DeKalb swings to both Dem candidates that it then gives both Dems the overall win?

Donald still not able to grasp that if there are more people living in a county, it will take longer to count their votes and when their votes are added to the mix they could well have a significant impact.
