Contract Cleaner left behind equipment- How long do I need to hold onto it?

I hired a cleaning company to wash our carpets and they left behind 5 litres of carpet cleaner. The called looking for it and I told them I would leave it on my doorstep for them to collect... that was 3 weeks ago. They keep saying they're going to collect it but never turn up. How long am I legally expected to hang onto…

Call them once more, tell them it'll be disposed of Friday, if they haven't collected it by then. You've already given them the opportunity, and I think you'd be well within your rights if you wanted to get rid of it now.
