Its far more likely Kyle Walker brought into into the rest of the squad rather than any Newcastle player tbf.

City won't miss Walker anyway tbh if he ends up with a ban.

Yep it's only liverpool that suffer when first team defenders are missing.

    https://www.planetfootball.com/quick-reads/ranking-pl-clubs-by-the-no-of-games-missed-by-injured-players-in-20-21/

Came across this and found it interesting to compare club by club. Number of games missed by first team squad members for each club.

About a month out of date now but I found it interesting. Of course it’s a purely numerical experiment and doesn’t account for importance of a given player but didn’t think Palace and Arsenal would be at the top

You're right, it is out of date!
You'll have to do your own for other clubs I'm afraid!

    In terms of PL games only, these are number of games missed through injury/covid (101 total);

    Thiago 13
    Tsmikas 12
    VVD 11
    Ox 11
    Shaq 11
    Gomez 9
    Matip 8
    Keita 7
    Jota 5
    Milner 4
    Alisson 3
    TAA 2
    Fabinho 2
    Hendo 1
    Mane 1
    Salah 1

    All competitions, it looks like this (160 total);

    Thiago 21
    Ox 20
    VVD 17
    Tsmikas 16
    Shaq 16
    Gomez 13
    Matip 13
    Keita 12
    Alisson 6
    Milner 6
    TAA 5

    Salah 1
    Origi 1

    Just shorting the quote down.

Of that list so many players are what I would consider ' Injury riddled players' whereby you nearly expect them to get Injured a couple of times a season.

Thiago/Ox/Shaq off the top off my head always seemed to pick up injuries at their previous clubs. Don't really know much about Matip previously but I had a look up and he seemed to be injured a bit as well at Schalke.

Keita/Gomez I can't really account but they seem very injury riddled. Don't know anything about Tsmikas.

Rodriguez off Everton is one I suspect to be in and out most of the time with Injury.

It's strange then you have the likes of Suarez off the top of my head who never seemed to be injured. Plenty of other players in that category to of course.

Is this just this season? Where did you get the figures?

    Yeah just this season.

Figures from transfermarkt and listening to Klopp's pre game conference so knowing whether a player is injured or just left out of the squad.

In the least surprising news since the announcement of another lockdown, Nuno has been charged for his referee comments.

If it does come to light and is proven to be fact that Walker did host a party and Covid spread from there, I would have him pay the costs of cancelling the game and the costs for the rearranged fixture out of his wages.

Then City can also discipline him.

He has already broken restrictions 3 times and shows no lack of understanding or caring or learning.

Positive cases at Man City include Ederson, Jesus, Cancelo & Torres.

There are positive cases at Arsenal too, in Gabriel and David Luiz & William are unavailable because they showed symptoms.

Now at Spurs, Vinicius & Lucas Moura are also unavailable for an undisclosed matter.

Maybe the online rumours that there was a large Christmas party between a group of footballers of a certain nationality, and their friends, is true.

Ederson has now confirmed that he is isolating.
The stories now is that Kyle Walker organised the big Christmas party.

If I was Everton I would be asking serious questions about why that game was called off. Man City were back training asap and they had enough players to play that game and the outbreak cause was likely their own players misbehaviour.

Newcastle Villa set the precedent, the origin of the cases is irrelevant.

Regardless of his past, I think we should be looking for a little bit more than sourceless Twitter rumours before finding him guilty here.

This might be true but it also might be absolute nonsense. Not that long since a Man United young lad had half the internet thinking he had abducted some girl, because of a baseless internet rumour that ended up being about someone else entirely.

Far too many people these days think you can destroy a person’s character based on a nothing accusation, as long as you put ‘if true’ at the beginning, incase it ends up being nonsense later.

Bang on. Let’s wait for the facts before we get the pitchforks out yeah?

You'd have to think Evertons added rest is an absolutely massive edge for them this evening, teams who've had a full xmas schedule must be running on fumes at this stage.

Will probably be competitive early but they should pull away in 2nd half.

They’re really not so good without Digne and Rodriguez though. That Tom Davies lad is a mid table Championship player at best. Bernard aswell does not really belong at the level he is playing at.

Everton vs West Ham is a terrible match so far. No chances at all.

Tom Davies is the most non existent player ever

Honestly if he was a young french lad he would be back playing in Ligue 2 already

Villa have beaten Utd once in 41 PL games.

Good win for Moyes and West Ham.

That was a desperate game. Everton very poor going forward. I find Richarlison quite frustrating to watch and I’m a neutral.

By all accounts, Tom Davies is really sound. As players get free boots and gear etc, he regularly supplies his mates & their teams with boots etc.

He's also regularly seen skateboarding around Liverpool city with the other skater kids!

All this unnecessary hugging and chatting really should be stopped at the end of games when there are rising cases amongst players. They're even swapping jerseys. It's ridiculous.

Simon Harris is monitoring the situation...

Villa play a very enjoyable brand of football, lots of little clever passing triangles to create space, look more at home in that top echelon of the league than likes of Chelsea and Everton , bit of swagger about them too.

    What about Villa last season?
