Big Sam v Bielsa tomorrow. 12th vs 19th shouldn't be the midweek game I'm most looking forward to but that's a hell of a contrast in styles. #teamsam

To be fair, you’re not someone I’d want on jury duty if I was ever accused of anything.

Its one thing to feel people don’t deserve the benefit of the doubt based on their prior conduct, it’s another thing entirely to speak of it as fact that they’ve done the worst case scenario for the situation they’ve been involved in.

"Benefit of doubt". It sounds like you don't understand the processes and you're just throwing phrases at it.

His employer made a finding. There is no "doubt", it wasn't "based on their prior conduct". They found that behaviour of Lampard and his colleagues warranted a 100k fine. That was huge at the time. Now, they don't have to reveal the internal findings to you and me, and you can interpret it as being standard...but it really really wasn't.

I appreciate people may say their behaviour wasn't as bad as I made out because they may never have laughed and it may have been a very serious and sombre stripping. Or the 9/11 was irrelevant because they were just stripping and swearing like we all do

Literally nobody has said this. Just merely pointed out at the two things you said are not factually true based on the article.

    Nobody has defended the actions.

Really? I thought you were getting upset because I said "he was laughing" when I should have said "he was stripping and swearing".

Let's find common ground. Can we agree that Lampard's behaviour in front of Americans after 9/11 - for which he was heavily fined by his club - was very unedifying and really not worth defending?

Sure as I said no problem with that.

I just saw T4TF post which clears up the other article in which in directly relates to 9/11 the BBC one did not which is what I was basing the discussion on.

They absolutely made a finding. The problem is that you're misrepresenting what that finding was.

Similarly to how you made a claim about someone ****ting on a dressing room floor without a shred of evidence of that being the case.

The problem with the things you're saying are not that they're bad opinions, it is that you've been misrepresenting them as facts or at the minimum, things that are so obvious that anyone should be expected to know them to be true.

It is perfectly plausible that Chelsea have heard about some of their players drunk causing a scene in a hotel with some indecent exposure involved and decided that warranted a huge fine.

That isn't necessarily the set of events that transpired either, but it is just as plausible.

Just because you said ‘clearly’ twice doesn’t make what you said anymore accurate.

There was no foul from Grealish. Refs made the correct decision.

But if you watch it, it is clear that Grealish kicks out at the defender in an attempt to initiate contact and draw a foul as per usual. It is clear no matter how many times you say it isn't or regardless of how unpopular it might be to suggest it.

I don't think VAR should be getting involved though and I don't think the goal should be disallowed.

Simon Harris is monitoring the situation...

Hard to shout for either manager. I suppose Sam edges it.

Can’t take to Bielsa at all. Not sure what all the fuss is about.

His team seems to play the same way regardless if they are leading 3-0 or losing 0-3. If he was a younger English manager (Eddie Howe anyone ?) he’d be laughed out of the place, for being naive, but because he’s foreign it’s some masterstroke.

Then there’s the time he was caught cheating in ‘spygate’. Sending spies to watch his opponents training sessions, all season, to gain an unfair advantage. Sending the spies with the tools they needed to break in and then watch (binoculars) the training sessions. Pretty disgusting form of cheating. I think his defence was that everyone does it.

We should be able to teach children integrity, sportsmanship and endeavour through sport. Not teach them that cheating is acceptable.

I think that cheating/spying was in the season they won promotion too.

Then his refusal to speak English seems weird and childish. I’ve read it’s because he doesn’t want to insult English people by speaking it poorly but I’ve also read it’s because he doesn’t want to make a mistake and for his English to be misinterpreted. Neither seem an acceptable explanation.

Whereas Sam just seems greedy but we are already used to that in soccer.

I’d still rather watch the current Leeds playing than a Sam team but I’d like to see them relegated and to try and win promotion without the cheating.

Hopefully Sam gets relegated too and I don’t have to watch his style of football. Hopefully once relegated club owners will stop reaching out to him too.

Cheating? No rules were broken, so it's not cheating anyway. Wasnt in season they won promotion, so you're wrong there again.

Ok so, the not speaking English judgement maker has spoken, solid reason not to like him I guess. Certainly wouldnt have anything to do with the mentality of the british media, they're fond of argentinians alright so theyd have no reason to misinterpret what he says.

When Klopp played a second string in the Cup, showing complete contempt for the opponents and the competition, could you identify what the children learned about respect and honest endeavour?

As for interpreters, is it only football managers who should be happy to play fast and loose with language? Do you think interpreters are appropriate in business, in Court, on the floor of the UN? Why is it "weird, childish and unacceptable" to seek accuracy?

Wonder how flexible they'll be about extending the final day of the season out or will they try to squeeze teams games in hand in before last day. Gotta be a whopping advantage not having tonnes of games in hand, likes of City's schedule is gonna be borderline impossible.

Bit like us having to play 2 games in 24 hours nearly a continent apart?

Well, season is schduled to end on 23 May. Champions League final is the 29th, Euros are to start on June 11, so there's not really much scope to extend it.

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

Doubt Chelsea would sell him but Giroud would be a better option if Wolves could get him. Costa was an atrocious bit of business for Atletico so I wouldn't go signing him.

Dont most premier league managers do this in cup games? Why are you singeling out Klopp?

The poster called Klopparama was getting a little dramatic about how the behaviour of managers might influence children, who apparently look to sport to learn about honest endeavour, respect yada yada yada...

Gameweek 38 is Sunday 23rd May.
Not a lot of flexibility beyond that with the Europa Final on Wednesday 26th and CL Final on Saturday 29th, and then players get released for the Euros and the Copa America.

They could possibly move GW38 to the Monday evening and use the preceding Saturday for catch-up fixtures.
If they knew far enough out that there were no English teams in the CL or EL final then they could grab another few days I guess, finishing on Thursday 27th.

So, you only mentioned Klopp because the user's name has "Klopp" in it? And you accept that it's equally disresepctful and dishonest when other managers do it?

Just as an edit: I'd argue it teaches resource management and physical limitations and the importance of squad management and teamwork and that it's not possible to play every minute of every game.

Maybe that's the difference between our clubs. I feel part of mine. Ever go to Anfield? YNWA!

Christ imagine literally writing that sentence.

But for the sake of a general premier league thread and not a fan particular one, specify the team you're referring to and dont assume someone will know who you support.
