VRT rate for 7 seater VW Caravelle?

    Hi ,

    What rate of VRT would a 7 seater 2.5tdi 2001 VW caravelle be charged at? Would it be better to make it a 5 seater and vrt it as a crew cab?

    As far as I know, it cannot be VRT'ed as a crew cab. Some time back (2018 ?) they brought in a rule that the passenger area floor and the load area floor had to be separate for a crewcab. So something like a HiLux or an L200 is fine as the load area "tub" are different components to the passenger area, but a van (Transit, Transporter, Vivaro, etc) will not qualify, even if the passenger area and load area are separated by a bulkhead. You might notice that the value of older crewcab vans has increased as a a result.

    They seem to be back clearing a lot of new x5 2019 onwards and some discovery’s again as crew cabs so rule must have changed again

    Did they come from the factory that way though as opposed to retrofitting? I thought that was one of the new rules around qualifying as a commercial?
