Best Country to import a 22 pistol from?

    After Brexit where will you guys be importing your 22 pistols from since we have to pay import fees up north.

    I wonder how much extra import fees will be ? what if you license the pistol import license is free (well it is at the mo ) NI visitors pass is 16 sterling and go up and bring it in yourself.

    Now it might not be feasible for someone living in Cork but as I'm about 5 min from the border it might work. In saying that I have never bought a pistol in the North all came from Germany and delivered to my door.

    I think there was, Germany does a lot of business in the UK and visa-versa, and they don't like losing money, i did see something on frictionless trade. Fingers crossed, i buy a lot of engineering tools and materials from the UK and i don't want to go back to paying duty and having parcels stuck in customs until you go along and pay.

    Who knows, maybe parcel motel will be back in action soon.


    EDIT; Just reading in the paper, that there is to be zero tariff trade between the uk and eu, so you will still be able to buy from the UK without paying duty.

    Italy. Lad local to me has contacts in Rome he is Italian originally, here years. Iv got a few pieces from Italy

    The eu (well the Germans) want frictionless trade, so there might be a way around that, VAT to be paid in the uk and not in Ireland or something like that.

    Crazy prices to export from there,as it is a police racket. Was looking at a .22 from Italy this year. The cost was 300 euros, export to Ireland 295!!! Made up of a police escort from the dealer to the cargo depot at Milan airport of 20 klicks and basically, it ends up in the copper's pockets at the end of the trip.:mad:

    So one to keep in mind when dealing down that part of the world. Pity ,as they have some nice bits for sale at reasonable enough money.

    I don’t know if this is any good but I was just checking a brand new Hammerli X-esse from a reputable dealer in Belgium, €845.

    Importing and exporting from Belgium involves a right bit of paperwork but is far from impossible and when things return to some kind of normal the price of an Aer Lingus return flight plus sports equipment fee will do the job.

    Under Belgian legislation as far as I can remember, you’d have to verify, an Irish licence and European firearms passport accompanied by export and import permits allows you possession of the gun for the purpose of transport while in the jurisdiction.

    I can put you in contact with the chap. We used a courier company no problems. Cost 120 for my dt10 same for my friend's tangfolio and 98fs

    Edit. You are right my shotgun import was cheaper for a reason
